So this is somehow better than Activision putting out disc based games like GH Metallica and Van Halen? Just saying, the hate on GH is a little over the top. This is just as bad in my opinion.

No Guitar hero Metallica came with 49 songs and only 28 are from Metallica. So yeah this is way better.

Better bacause it is The Beatles.

Also because Harmonix has a lot more attention to detail than Activision. The videos, style, background animations, etc are all true to the band and their fans.

A lot of attention to detail went into the game that would be seriously lacking in the GH series.

Yeah man, I don't know where all the GH hate comes from. Activision is great with there products, in fact I downloaded the new GH Aerosmith DLC yes...oh wait, they've completely forgotten about that game and any plans to support it haven't they?

it WOULD be nice if they could include an MP3 track for your PMP with that purchase.

Imagin plugging the PMP into the 360 and syncing your rockband songs to the device.

Why not?

Man I am getting sick of this trend. I pay $60 for a game and they cut half the features and re-sell them to me. With the media sizes today, either 9.8 GB dual layer DVDs or 25 GB blu-ray discs, there should be no reason for DLC in a game like this.

It continually amazes me the different ways companies think up to rape the consumer. I think the worst Iwas the costumes in SF4, those should have been unlockable plain and simple. Pretty soon you will have to pay per play just like an arcade game.

If they were to add all these songs into the game the price would go up a lot. Licensing a song (especially the Beatles) isn't free.

If they included the whole Beatles discography in one game and charged $300+ for it you would be bitching anyway. This at least gives people the option to buy the songs they want.

I'm just happy they're putting out this much content. Great job HMX!

Okay maybe this game was a bad example. You gotta admit that DLC is getting out of control though.

@Autobot... why? Are they in short supply or something? Personally I'd say $2 is par for the course... why do you wish to pay more per song?

Taste in music is generally subjective. Except in the case of The Beatles. The Beatles are great, your opinion doesn't count.

He's right though, the Beatles are awful. Why even bother making a game for them, it's going to be by far the easiest and most boring music game since they play boring simplistic music.

@AoE

Beatles songs cost more to license than your typical RB DLC song. I'm 99% positive Harmonix isn't making as much back per song with these, that's why it's surprising that they are keeping the $1.99 price. Lucky for them, they will probably sell a lot more of them than they do normal DLC.

"you'll have the option to play the B-side medley (from "You Never Give Me Your Money" through "The End") as one continuous track."

That's all I could ask for. Although, really? Charging us for "Her Majesty?" The song is 30 seconds. Yikes.

I don't think anyone is going to want Her Majesty without having the whole album anyways. But I don't know...some people are weird I guess.

I wonder if Harmonix will only release albums, or singles as well.

By singles I mean maybe a little from from one album, a little from the next.

or even the wav files for later converting.

What about the Wii? On Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour, the Wii is unable to purchase full albums, only individual tracks. At that rate, all these albums will be significantly higher priced than the pack price...and I won't be able to play the B-Side as a whole. Can someone clarify?
