360 and PS3 tags Joystiq? What's going on?

Heh, it's usually the other way around. Joystiq seems to forget the PC tag from time to time, don't know why.

Spyder, let me guess: PC gaming is dead? The only PC gamers are those who play WoW?

Do us all a favor and STFU.

I have a very strong feeling this is going to end up like FEAR 2, you'll play as an entirely different character in a different story in the same universe, it will not be a direct sequel to Crysis 1. And its because its a multiplatform game and so many PS3/360 owners did not play the first game and so we'll need a different setting for them to start fresh and not be confused.

At the end of Crysis, your going back into the island, how are you supposed to get the new Nanosuit? But in one of the videos, the username is "Nomad" so it looks like your still playing as him from the first game.

They set up a cliffhanger in the first one so I assume it'll be a direct sequel.

A few people over at Crymod have dissected the video and they've been kind enough to point out that, during the initialization sequence of the clip, Nomad's name pops up (which would then imply Nomad's the one wearing the N2). Given how the game ended, it's essentially a given that you'll be reprising either the role of Nomad, Psycho, or possibly even Prophet in the game.

While I like the N2, I honestly prefer the exoskeletal structure of the N1's back; it not only looked like it was providing protection but broke up the artificial muscle into nice, clean groups. Barring that, the only thing that would make me happier would be to see the N2's obliques getting reduced in size slightly since it makes the upper thighs look too short and it'd give the suit a bodybuilder-esque V-taper.

I hope Crysis 2 is more interesting. The only reason I can start to play Crysis 1 is because of how jaw-dropping pretty it is. But it's so damn boring. There's just not much to do...I wish it were more like a gta clone. That would be epic.

Well Nomad's just a codename, maybe the first one is being replaced? It did seem like they left room for a sequel at the end of the first one, and obviously the "first" Nomad was still alive, so who knows?

I am curious as to how Nomad will acquire this new suit when he is already on the way back to the island with Psycho and Helena, I am afraid you may play as a new character in a different setting just like with FEAR 2. Why didn't FEAR 2 take place right after the cliffhanger of the first game when ironically, the first unofficial expansion pack did?

I'm afraid because of this game being multiplatform, it will be in a different setting to cater to the console gamers just like with FEAR 2, that was a victim of console porting.

I want to play the game right after the 1st game ended.

IMO, the first suit is better looking, this one is too stocky and buffed up. But I suppose a new suit is required to add new gameplay features to the game, just wish the design was more sleek.

I liked the first one, but this one looks a tad more realistic. By realistic, I mean, it's a little big, because after all, it's an exoskeleton. It's supposed to go OVER the person. The first one looked as though the person inside it would have to be anorexic to fit in properly.

There's only 2 things REALLY bothered me about both nanosuits...

Firstly, where is the power supply? I mean... it's kinda weird, it's a super awesome suit of awesome that's powered by magical pixie dust inserted on a tiny plate in the spinal column? Or is actually powered by energy cells of some sort? That would be more likely, but where would it go? In... in the bum?

Secondly, the nanosuit looks epic, yes, but highly impractical. what if a bullet gets in between the artificial muscle? i'm pretty sure that'll be pretty fail for someone. I thought they would have the decency to plate the nanosuit in key places to deflect bullets properly rather than absorb them and still take kinetic damage to the inner organs.

Oh well.

From the PDF

"While the N2’s primary coupling is compatible with any
BVN-series hydrogen cell, the suit also acquires and
stores energy automatically from a wide range of ambient
sources: kinetic motion, passive solar/thermal,
and atmospheric microwave to name but a few. The
standard-issue universal adaptor allows recharging
from virtually any hardline electrical source, domestic
or military – and with Crynet’s optional Necro-Organic
Metabolites plug-in (NOM), the N2 can even extract
usable energy from battlefield carrion."

Yeah, I read that. But, it says where you can get energy from... But where is it stored? Err, I guess more specifically where are the hydrogen cells?

in the top video, the two little circles with slits on the back of the neck look large enough to be power cells. Also the kinetic energy from bullets is absorbed but not by the wearer's organs, that's the whole point of the suit, that'd just be stupid

You're forgetting that the suit also generates a force-field around itself, that's what's taking most of the damage, not the suit itself.

From what I recall no, it's probably going to be in the sequel.

Both Crysis and Warhead still had pretty damn good soundtracks though.
