Do video games have to be a part of every single thing in life?

next it's wii sleep, EA shower, Activision potty trainer...

if that's what it takes to get some gamers to shower and brush their teeth, i'm all for it.

nothing worse than being stuck in line, buying the same game, behind a 400 lb monstrosity who hasn't showered in 2 weeks

Because interactive software = video games.

I wonder how many computer users started to complain when people started to use their computers to play games. Computers are SERIOUS BUSINESS after all, can't have those fucking casuals dragging it down.

This type of title would be more appropriate for something like:

More Madden

or

More Final Fantasy

I am ridiculously disappointed this isn't being distributed as DLC. I really like this game and it actually gets me to exercise and work up a sweat, although the activities do get pretty monotonous (I can only do so many side lunges without wanting to throw my wii-mote at the screen on purpose) and the audio is useless (i just mute it and crank Pandora).

But seriously, yet another disc and case? And there won't be any resale value on the old one. Haven't these guys paid attention to the Rock Band and Guitar Hero people? Downloadable, a la carte - way more money and way less plastic.

To be fair, while they've made great strides in the past 2 years, the Wii isn't exactly synonymous with downloadable content.

I agree, Baby sea tuna, but how big could these exercises be?

More likely it's an issue of selling to the kind of Wii owner who doesn't bother to connect to the internet (plus the fact that if the original wasn't explicitly programmed for DLC, it's impossible to implement, like every other Wii game)

Problem is Nintendo's downloadable service, according to many I've talked to, limits any game content to 40MBs. Do the exercises themselves take up a lot of space? Likely not. But the videos, voice recordings, algorithms to get them into an exercise routine, etc, could EASILY go over 40MB without even trying.

Frankly, given the success I'm having with the program, I'm willing to buy again so long as this is an expansive program (ala, has exercises from the first) and not just the new stuff.

Just for the record, I'm a very big fan of EA Sports Active. While I've always had a hard time staying dedicated to an organized exercise routine, I don't have that problem with this.. game? Exercise routine? What is it exactly? Anyway, in this particular case more is good in my book.

How does this work mechanically? When I want to switch exercises, do I have to switch discs?

If you're too lazy to switch discs for an excercise game, there is something fundamentally wrong.

It isn't a function of laziness; it is a desire to proceed smoothly from one exercise to another without having to break rhythm because of disc swapping.

While I think it's a little soon for this, I'm still interested. I did the 30 day workout with the original EA Sports Active and it was very good, I enjoyed the results :)

My one question, will these 35 new activities be in addition to the current set, or if I want to do the other exercises from the first game, will I need to pop in the first games disc? I really hope they add it all together, just because it'll make custom workouts even better.

I also really hope they add some MP3 support for music (it's been done before on the Wii!).

I also hope they bring in some new trainers, maybe an "abs" coach or a "track" coach, just another voice to offer advice, rather than the same trainer for the 20-40 min workouts.
