I read FW 3.0 won't be shipping with the early PS3 Slim models. So, unless they got an early release, they're probably running the same FW as everyone else.

the backwards capability of ps2 came with the orginal release models, they removed that feature during the 3rd? remodel, believing that consumers would rather have a cheaper product (if i remember correctly)
so I think backwards ps2 compatability is out for good this gen
I think the only way you're gonna get it is you find an original release ps3 phat model
unless someones heard otherwise

Let's get this straight ALL PS3s can play PS1 games, it's only the newer models that can't play PS2 games. Like a Sony rep said before most people who have PS2 games have PS2s so stop complaining over something that could be patched later down the line.

@SonyHomie: I ain't sayin' it's a bad thing. I's sayin' that I was really hopin' them 360's would drop for poor ol' me. The current library of games is way more appealing to me on the 360. The PS3 is for God of War, Heavy Rain and Last Guardian.

In all honesty though what titles appeal to you more on the 360 than the PS3?
I don't have any stats to back me but I would guess that over 90% is multiplatform.

It feels like it's gaining some steam and the future lineup of games looks great for it. Toughy. Trying to decide on just one system right now is definitely not an easy decision to make.

I have an Elite, Pro and Arcade, two Wii's and one 80gb PS3 w/BC. I can't imagine passing up the 360. The best deal is the Arcade model at $199 because you can buy the 120gb drive online for 109 from newegg (they have a sale once a month). I'll probably snag the PS3 Slim sometime this fall for the livingroom

I already have a PS3 80GB with BC but I'm an impulse buyer so most likely I will impulse buy the PS3 Slime sometime over the holidays and give my PS3 to my bro. I just hope this PS3 Slime runs good and doesn't overheat since it doesn't look like it has alot of air vents. Jump in.
