GameStop taking PS3 Slim pre-orders for late August

Smartly catering to customers with enough patience to wait for the announcement of a redesigned, cheaper PlayStation 3 -- but not enough patience to wait for it to actually come out -- GameStop is offering PlayStation 3 Slim pre-orders online and in stores. The retailer's data currently indicates a shipping date of August 24, which is less than a week from today and notably removed from the system's expected September arrival.
