i'm confused, there's no PC version yet? I didn't think a simple downloadable game was hard to implement on the PC. They should just cancel it, i mean by that time it there will be about a few good shooters out there. Including MW2 and BC2.

l love 1943, even got one of the easiest 100% trophies i ever gotten. Too bad no platinum

It's tougher to implement a game on the PC than on a console because you have to support a huge variety of target systems with all sorts of different capabilities

I guess you PC gamers will just have to settle for all the OTHER battlefield games you have that aren't on consoles.

Actually, I haven't played BF2 or 2142 in a really long time. :(

why not just make 1942 available for free? I played the trial of 1943 and it reminded me of the wake demo before 1942 came out. Even though 1943 is the retarded cousin of the battlefield series.Sure he is fun to be around, but he can't cross the street without his hand being held.

Please tell me your logic on coming to this conclusion. I also presume you have not played battlefield heroes?

I've been playing the battlefield series since it came out. 1942 (skipped vietnam) BF2 2142. You can get a better experience out of those because they have all the classes, all the maps: You can actually run out of ammo. You can have 64+ people playing at one time. You don't have to have 16 people to start a match with just your friends.

BF1943 is fun and all, but if you've enjoyed playing the origional series, then 1943 seems pal in comparison.

@Sidebuster,

I dunno.. it seems pretty NTSC to me; but then I am playing in north america so I guess it never would be PAL...

I liked BF:Vietnam. The ability to play music from your Huey gunship as you pwn the flatfoots was fantastic. I learned to fly the choppers from this game and it really helped when BF2 came out.

That's what I thought when I read this. I really don't think many PC gamers out there even care if this game is released. I know I would much rather have a Battlefield 3 than 1943.

I cared a couple months ago... I won't even remember giving 2 shits when it finally comes out though.

This game is a 'pass' for PC gamers. Just a summer snack before the autumn rush.

"If you find the idea of spending that much on a console distasteful, just tell yourself it's a really big video card."

Yeah, a REALLY, REALLY weak video card that I cannot upgrade, can't run games at 2560x1200 at 8x antialising, can't run mods, can't run benchmark utilities to show off my e-penis, etc. : P

I am a diehard PC gamer, have all the other PC Battlefields and still bought 1943. I really like it except the typical XBOXLive lack of team play. Too many kiddies just wanting to frag out. Also the flying sucks. One of the worst control schemes I've ever used.

Won't buy this for the PC though. Got it for the 360, don't need two copies. Especially since I don't see any mention of it supporting crossplatform play. If dev's want to sell more PC versions, they need to push for crossplatform support.

I don't think you are ever going to see cross platform support. The PC cheaters and exploiters would have a field day with the console players.

It would be nice if you could share maps and user created content though.

really? PC actually has anti-cheat systems you tool, the consoles are the systems where everyone believes nobody will mod and cheat at all and therefor no security is implemented. Don't be a fanboy

Outdated, yet receiving more support and interest from developers than the much more powerful PC. The console peasants are winning. : (

Ignore this fool. PC gamers and console gamers share a bond- we like games. PC gamers love graphics, but pay the price. Whereas console gamers get great graphics for a much cheaper price (nowadays). Oh, and PC gamers have more exclusives, but no one really wins from that.
Can't we all just get along, peasants and kings alike. :D

This is sad honestly. Computer gamers set the stage for it, made it what it is and suddenly the console games get the latest and best stuff now. We have to wait for second rate second hand stuff. I own all of the console systems, but when it comes to things like BF they belong on the PC where they came from.

I've been noticing this a lot. As gamers we're losing out footing, we wait to get considerable later releases or just a ported version of the console game that doesn't half work. Why? Our computers can handle more then any of the consoles out there (Yes even the P3, my computer can out perform it, granted if they put more ram in it and a better gfx gpu it couldn't, but as it stands...the cell processor is seriously under used). So why are we, the starters of it all, left behind...simple, money and profits. We're far and few between any more and we're far from cared for by developers any more.

Sad Sad days.

I'd agree, consoles are getting the attention for the moment but development will shift back to pc's in a few years when consoles processing power starts to wane.

However laptop's and net books are becoming increasingly popular. I wonder if the desktop power computer population is not shrinking.

well anywho I'd love to be playing 1943 right now :'( So i bought dead space instead, so far it's pretty fun. kinda a little like system shock, more like resident evil.
