Klee Kuo, one of Square Enix's marketing Moogles, just dropped word that the English voice work for Final Fantasy XIII is complete. Kuo also made sure to say how impressed he was with the new Summons (marketing, ho!) and the fact that it'll incorporate a "unique level up system in FFXIII like Sphere Grid in FFX and License Board in FFXII."
So, Squenix, now that you have the voice work out of the way, can you get us that demo? Please?

Pfft, they want Japanese people to buy the game twice, once native and then again as an "International Edition"

My vote is for the redheaded chicks. They are like a rare endangered species. So beautiful, but yet so rare.

Those boobs look too small for a japanese video game.
Just saying.

You know I really, really am trying to care about this game. But after the snorefest that was FFXII, and the subpar FFX...I just can't help but ignore most post about Final Fantasy XIII.
While Square tries to revamp the series with boring MMO gameplay, Atlus continues to release awesome RPG's every year.
However, Final Fantasy aside, I think I'm almost done with JRPG's in general. Western RPG's are SO MUCH more engaging. Games like Mass Effect and Fallout 3 have me saying Final What?

If everyone who gave me a penny for that they hated FFXII, I'd have 100 pennies.

It's ok...can't always say things people will agree with, right?
I mean I've been a fan of the Final Fantasy series since Final Fantasy IV (II...whatever) on the SNES. However, since Final Fantasy IX, I really don't care about drawn out summon animations and girly-men protagonist.
I want to go back to the overworld maps, I want complete control over my damn team, and I want a story that actually makes me give a damn about the characters.

I liked Oblivion and FallOut 3... But Final Fantasy X was one of the best FFs ever!

If by "best" you mean "most linear", then yes, absolutely true.
I totally agree with Naeem, ever since FFX the stories have been meh and the gameplay itself has been butchered to the point of it being silly to even give these games the title of Final Fantasy. There's a big reason why many care more about a seemingly non-existant FF7 remake than these new titles. FF games can be so much better than they have been in recent years.

FFX was pretty crappy, didn't like the graphics back then, made me think they should have sticked with pre-rendered backgrounds, the voice acting was horrible, and the character design even worse.
I actually liked FFXII, though it would have been better with a more character-centered story.
Out of the FFs from the main series that I played, X and XI stuck out like a sore thumb. VI, VII and IX were awesome, VIII was pretty good if you used the junction system to make your character strong enough not to need to summon GFs. I remember that once I summoned a GF, made a hot dog, and when I came back the animation was still playing -.-

FFXII has 3 protagonists, none of whom are girly-men. Basch is manly, ditto for Balthier, and Ashe is an actual girl. If you thought Vaan was the protagonist, you didn't play the same game I did. And if you wannna get technical, I mean protagonists as the main "good guy" characters.
"Like I said, I'm a very big fan of the series, and I've only played 2 games I didn't like out of 12."
12 games? So you liked FFXI? Or do you mean you played FFX-2 and counted that as one of the 12?
"If by "best" you mean "most linear", then yes, absolutely true."
Those 2 aren't mutually incombatible. X was a good FF game, and it kinda justified its linearity(you're busy on a pilgrimage to defeat Sin). XII was good too, and even dropped a bit of the linearity of X(teleport crystals and airships to travel around at any time).

I have to agree, somewhat. I never cared for X. I didn't think it was an awful game, per se, but it changed the face of FF, and I don't think it did so for the better.
After X and X-2, I had lost hope. XII was a very good game, but the story wasn't phenomenal by any means, nor was I particularly attached the any of the characters. The ending was decent but, again, the game, overall, was nowhere near FF standards, character and story-wise.
I miss overworld maps, too. I was really, really hoping XIII would have one, but I guess it doesn't. I heard a rumor that vs XIII would, but I can't substantiate that at all.
Square needs to deliver another game that is, story-wise, on par with VII, VIII, or IX. Wonderful, round, memorable, characters with idiosyncrasies and flaws. Moments of drama, like finding Dyne in VII or carrying Rinoa in VIII or going back to save Blank in IX.
I still love Final Fantasy, but I miss it, too.

i don't know why anyone who doesn't understand the language must insist they hear these voices (they sound like every character of every show/game are played by the same 5 people). I guess its not BAD.

i am not too worried about the english

This has always confused me a little bit because most of the Japanese voice tracks I hear sound just as bad as some of the English dubs. A good example was some IGN spoof video of FFXIII they made that still had the Japanese track in the background and I was confused about how people preferred that over English tracks.
