At long last, there's an answer to the following timeless riddle -- how many publishers does it take to port a Japanese-centric franchise to North America on two different systems? Okay, fine, that's not so much a timeless riddle as it is a question we just made up, but it's been answered regardless: In the case of Way of the Samurai 3, the answer is two. Agetec and UFO Interactive will be bringing Spike's samurai sim stateside, each publishing the title on one platform a piece (PS3 and Xbox 360, respectively).
We knew UFO would be bringing the game to North American 360s -- but couldn't foresee Agetec's involvement in the game's importing. Now we just need Atlus to bring the game to the Wii, and this bizarre localization triumvirate will be complete.

I love how you could just leave the village and end the game within 5 minutes of starting the first one.

Wow really? That would be an epic story right there.

Of course, I like to watch Akira Kurosawa marathons, so I may be a bit biased.

haha i like you're calling him a moron, he was obviously making a joke as how sega likes to fuck everything up (IE Werehog Sonic) that and this game is WAAAAAY cheaper to localized than Yakuza 3, everything about this game (don't get me wrong i love the WOTS series, even imported the psp port) is cheaper than Yakuza 3.

Eh, Wii gets Samurai Warriors 3, that's kinda similar...

Excepting that, barring the pretext of samurai, they have almost no similarities.

I've played every Way of the Samurai game and I'm excited for this one. I knew along time ago it was coming to the US because Gamestop has it listed for $49.99. I don't care who ports it, I just want a good samurai game on PS3.

Hooray for Way of the Samurai 3!
Can't wait. Loved the first two.
Wish the graphics were a little better for this one, though...

I remember the replay value on the first two being staggering. Seeing how every little situation plays out differently depending on the character you chose was just plain fun. Total proof that budget games don't have to be hack jobs.

The first two games are among my top ten PS2 titles of all time. The multiple paths and "Choose Your Own Adventure" style with unlockable weapons and fighting styles really made the games come to life. Definitely getting this day one.

The first one was great, and so under appreciated.
The VO in WotS 2 was not so good. Great to see WotS 3 hit two platforms.

I love the rampant racism in some of these comments.
"Man, this game is just like another game made by a different company."
"what? how?"
"Asians! There's ASIANS in it!"
Anyway, I haven't sunk much time into Way of the Samurai, but it's a pretty neat concept to not have one big arching storyline. I would like to see 3 on Wii, but more than that I'd like to see it as a download. The 'go in, have a bit of fun, have your story, done' style would fit a download much better than a disk.

Games like Madden or Dynasty Warriors should be DLC but Way of the samurai no. Way of the Samurai has more to it than different endings and deserves to be on a disc plus it's $10 cheaper than any other new game that comes out.

Fun fact of the day: WotS is actually my favorite game of all time. Of course, in my youth I did have something of an obsession with the movie Groundhog's Day. And WotS is basically Groundhog's Day, with samurai. I actually didn't care for the second one since I got the "number 1" ending on the first try and I still haven't achieved that on the first one (I'm still trying to do it without a guide). Still, glad to get word of someone trying to get it on American PS3s. I would have imported it, though.

Oh shi-!
Same as....favorite ps2 game (bushido blade for ps1) and yeah f'ing love groundhog day.....it was awesome to stroll through town killing and rescuing different folk...having slightly different battles with slighty different outcomes (testing a new blade here and there, looking like a different nutter but still slaying every fool around)
Hehe, those were the days man...jesus I musta been like 18 back then...he,he...damn
But I just don't understand how nobodys releasing a uk 360 version of this?
Thats my problem. I havent gotta ps3 yet and im goddamn british (raping pilliging bastards dont deserve it anyways...but not me I has victim lol)
I better not have to spend like £350 just to play a game with crap graphics.... wankers.
