BlizzCon 2009: BSG's Tricia Helfer to voice StarCraft 2's Kerrigan

It seems as though the BSG star is getting her fair share of video game voice over work these days, as she'll also be voicing a character named Dare in Halo 3: ODST. We're thinking if she gets to talking with gaming's every man Nolan North and they work out a monopoly, we'll have a serious issue on our hands.

At least. I could NOT stand the guy they had doing his voice a short while ago, whoever that was. And to think Metzen didn't like the original. Fuck that.

They brought as much as the original cast back as they could.
The guy who did Zeratul and General Duke died years back so obviously they couldn't bring him back.
And as for Tricia Helfer I couldn't think of a better voice to act that character. Glynnis Talken did the role great in the original, but Tricia is such a great actress that she can put so much more into the role..

You don't recognize Andrea Romano? She's directed the voices for basically every animated series of note in the past 20 years. Every incarnation of the DCAU, Avatar: The Last Airbender, I think she even voice directed Samurai Jack. Having her name on SC2 means the voice work will at least be spot on and praise-worthy.

There is still lan play. You just need to have everyone join through battle.net first. Then the computers connect to each other through the router.

Um... I never said she was generic in BSG, read what I said more carefully. Sci-fi channel generic -- because shortly after "hitting it big" with that show she started being featured in a couple of those horrible, horrible, lame sci-fi channel original movies. It's like that chick who played Ripley in Alien who started getting type-cast, only at least she was in non-sci-fi roles every now and then, like Kevin Kline's wife in Dave.

I actually hope Artanis doesn't come back, he was a boring replacement character, and Duran hasn't been revealed yet at all.

Oh man, I don't remember him dying, did that happen when he was left behind on Aiur? I haven't played the game since like 2003 heh. I actually liked Artanis, though, he had a strong personality with his En Taro Tassadar! etc. etc... I'm really sad they killed off the Adjudicator though, it makes it seem like the new game is basically going to have no Protoss characters except for Zeratul -- who's probably going to be all annoying and emo about killing the Matriarch... Ugh...
Hope we see a return of the UED at some point too.

Praetor Fenix was killed at the end of Brood War when Kerrigan turned on her allies. Pissed Raynor off a lot.

Honestly I'm kind of dissapointed that Glynnis Talken isn't reprising her role as Kerrigan. Just smells of stunt casting to me.
