It's been a long time coming -- like, a looooong time -- but it looks like an upcoming DLC pack for The Behemoth's four-player beat-'em-up is finally delivering the oft-promised Chainsaw weapon to Castle Crashers worldwide. It's part of the "Necromantic" DLC pack, which in addition to the gas-powered armament, will give players access to two new characters (the titular Necromancer and The Cult Minion), a new "Dragonhead" animal orb and two new weapons (the NG Skull Mace and, yes, the Chainsaw).
The Behemoth didn't reveal a price or a definitive release date for the pack, but did mention it is coming "SOON." That's their choice of capitalization, not ours. As in, it's not coming "soon" -- it's coming "SOON."

Well, it's not The Behemoth's fault that it's the truth.

Plenty of other games have offered much larger DLC packs for free. I very much doubt Microsoft forced them to charge money for an unlock key.
Speaking of which, why was this content not in the game to begin with? If it's not Behemoths fault that we have to pay, why wasn't it just standard unlockable content, like the rest of the characters, weapons and animals. This stuff has been in the game since day one, yet they've purposefully held it back, was that Microsofts idea too?

Yeah I have been playing again. Decided there was no reason not to get the last two achievements out of the game. Arena and Medic! I would be happy to try a 4 player game sometime. My GT is above ^

I wish they had added a few more stages to the game, but I guess they are putting all their resources into "Game 3"

Sometime next year. It's worth the wait, though.

Last year when the were previewing the 360 version it appeared in one of their videos. In a later podcast they said it was removed but I can't remember if they gave a reason why.

Im happy that they are still supporting this game but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release some new lvls or something to extend the game. I just got it a few weeks ago and while its INCREDIBLY fun its also equally as short. Id love a way to extend the game play besides running the same lvls a few hundred times to max out all the char,
