Swag Saturday: Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure (Wii) [update]

With BlizzCon wrapping up today as well as GamesCom, it's a heavy news weekend here on the Stiq. Thusly, we're bringing you this week's Swag Saturday a bit late in the day, but we're throwing in a real gem to make up for it. We have one copy of Capcom's critically acclaimed Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure for the Nintendo Wii.
In honor of Blizzard's annual soiree, we want your best ideas for a new MMO for the WoW developer to create. There is but one stipulation: the game must be made for the Nintendo Wii. Putting aside Wii's online concerns and the relative inability to communicate, how does the game work with the console? How does Blizzard make its next MMO for the Nintendo Wii? Good luck!
- Leave a comment telling us your best ideas for a new MMO made by Blizzard for the Nintendo Wii.
- You must be 18 years or older and a resident of the US or Canada, excluding Quebec.(Nous sommes désolés, Québecois!)
- Limit 1 entry per person.
- This entry period ends at 3:31 pm ET on Sunday, August 23. We'll randomly select one at that time to receive: one copy of Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure (ARV $70).

something based on the gods or myth
Matt D @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:06PM
I'd play a Super Mario RPG MMO if they made it and it had faux Power Ranger villains.
reversecycology @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:06PM
Blizzard should make a Dance MMO. There would be epic dance battles between tap dancers, break dancers, strippers, salsa dancers, Lord of the Dance dancers, just every dance style.
theonenj @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:08PM
It a game where you have to save a jock to save the world MMO.
modnite @ Aug 22nd 2009 9:25PM
I see what you did there.
Vincent @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:09PM
Blizzard could maybe pull of a Metroid Prime mmo. Almost like what Huxely is/was suppose to be. Part FPS, Part dungeon exploration a la the Metroid/Castlevania style. Heck, they could even make it 2D similar to Maple Story!
dlc3007 @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:09PM
Everyone gets to be a bounty hunter -- a la Metroid.

Alien zombie pirates vs Space vampire ninjas. That's right these things just come to me.
Shadsy @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:17PM
Rock N' Roll Racing, but in an open-world, post-apocalyptic environment and with some cool out-of-vehicle sections. They could name it something really edgy like RAGE.
Wait oh sh

I just want something with a near 1-1 swordplay involved. Also, in a modern time as the setting.
icekhold @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:21PM
Give me a Cooking Mama MMO with blizzard at the helm.
Don't ask me how.
Jrinswand @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:23PM
The rules of the giveaway state that you have to explain how the game works.
icekhold @ Aug 23rd 2009 1:38PM
It doesn't really go into detail when it comes to what exactly you need to say. The bullet point says best idea for a new MMO made by Blizzard so I went with that.
Either way it's not like it matters. It's a random draw.
BPMOmega [GT,Steam] @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:22PM
I'm not interested in entering (already have Zack & Wiki; great game)... but the ARV is $70? Whaaaa? That's more than what it cost when it was first released... and then the price plummeted below $20... Did it suddenly skyrocket in value?
Ben Gilbert @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:43PM
I guess so. I always go with the Amazon price. For a new copy of Zack & Wiki on Amazon, it's 70 bucks. 12 for a used one, but 70 for a new copy! Craziness, I know!
Filthy Assistant @ Aug 22nd 2009 9:14PM
That's from an "Amazon Featured Seller" who's marking it up to an insane price. Hitgaming is notorious for this... They sell Greatest Hits games for full price. If you go to the third party sellers, it's around 30 dollars new.
Luke @ Aug 22nd 2009 10:45PM
Supply and demand...it's a crazy thing. I got Z&W for $7.99 at Toys R Us when they were overstocked with them.
JC @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:22PM
Metroid would work out really well. But zelda would just make it look like runescape(which sucks)
shinseiromeo @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:23PM
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Aruba
Hydrophobicfish (PSN: HydrophobicFish) @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:40PM
That's a good idea, they could make lots of sequels for it easily too...
Quest for Jamaica, quest for the Kokomos, quest to get there fast and then take it slow.
Then there could be the final installment: Quest to downvote HydrophobicFish for all the song references/puns.
evileye @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:24PM
They should make an MMO for Boswer
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:24PM
Man Vs. Orc. 2 player mmo.

World of Waggling: 99 Levels of Grindtastic Waggling Action!
Mr Khan @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:26PM
Once again, so long as Blizzard is willing to use its own servers, Wii online can be as good as the other consoles. It's WiFi Connection itself that sucks, there's nothing inherent in the hardware keeping it from being any worse than anything on the original Xbox, at least.
Blizzard should build an MMO that's hybridized with something like a point-and-click adventure. Kinda like a fusion of Zack and Wiki and Maniac Mansion, but... massive.
Paul @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:28PM
Gonna throw my name in lol~
ArchiGamer 2.0 [Planeteer I Power of Sexy Irony] @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:29PM
Is it too much to ask for an MMO that is done in -this- time period and not a cliche?
ArchiGamer 2.0 [Planeteer I Power of Sexy Irony] @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:51PM
If I could ever make my own MMO, I would make it take place in a pseudo metropolitan city, like in the same vein as LA or New York or Chicago, and have different classes like the standard warrior, fighter and mage. Have some sort of gang of players who do some sort of quests by visiting other locales within and out the city. Probably have it in an stylized direction, have different clothing options that mirror today's fashions and the past, e.g. Rock, Hip Hop, Metal, and other such fashions based on music or even certain periods, like the Medieval or fashions from Asia or some other country or culture, each having specific traits and ability specific to certain classes.
Dungeons can be like abandon factories, buildings, slums, prisons, houses, exotic locales like a Japanese garden, a resort town, train stations, and other city dwellings. Monsters could be either some sort of clash between gangs and monsters that are done so in a modern light. Hell, have robotic enemies and such.
You could like have the main quest be some sort of story involving the city being< I don't know, be over run by a crime syndicate or something and its the job of the players to quell any problems.
And the different classes can totally different, like adding a bard class that play guitars and dress in the fashion of Rock, Metal, Funk, or something else.
Wow, I have so many ideas.
Alton Brown [Planeteer | Power of Dueling Banjos] @ Aug 22nd 2009 9:16PM
SMT did an MMO that's pretty sweet, and it's in the modern day.
dpyron @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:29PM
Diablocraft MMO FTW
Nook @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:29PM
you could have a main quest on the disk, lots of quests and the game could link up over N wifi to auto locate you to players with similar open quests to plat through - then the option to join together could be made - then in the future you could continue together or you could go with another group or person - yet still be able to send letters from the game via connect24.
the game setting should be old world, castles and such, caves...at least that's what I'd like to see. cell shaded would be cool. dl quests would be a nice touch.

World of H.P. Lovecraft.
A survival horror MMO where the nunchuk is used for movement and the wii-mote for aiming and flashlight. Survivors can decide to band together in groups or go alone. Strongholds can be built, but unless defended properly will fall to the enemy monsters/mutants/zombies.

tobin92 @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:48PM
Since it has to be made for Wii, I will give the obligatory ...POKEMON MMO.
One the huge obsticals that prevent this title from currently happening is that Game Freak's team is rather small and has little online experience. But if Blizzard and Game Freak teamed up, the game would be GOLDEN.
The game could be in 3D using an engine very similar to WoW's, which we all know is no demanding at all, but still produces solid graphics.
Use the nunchuck to move, use d-pad to quickly choice attacks and using the motion sensing for tasks like throwing pokeballs, moving objects or mixing berries.....etc.
Yan @ Aug 22nd 2009 8:42PM
We need a tri-collab. between Nintendo, Bandai-Namco and Blizzard - a Klonoa, dream-traveling MMO would be purely amazing. And would work great with the Wiimote and nunchuk, as was seen with the Door to Phantomile re-release.

Wii Sports/Fit: the MMO
You must run on the balance board to move around the world, no fast travel.
Every class/weapon has its own motion-based combat. For example, the Boxer, the Fencer, rackets, clubs, etc.
