@The Baron

If you set up a Zune web account, you can buy points 400 at a time. Hope this helps out.

And if we were talking about squad based games, I'm sure they would have a similar opinion of you.

Very subtle reference to a lack of Left 4 Dead DLC?
If I'm right. Gimme a cookie.

I wonder if the PC release will be free like the "Bring Down The Sky" DLC? Hope it comes out the same time as the 360 version or not much longer out!

I'd probably still pay for it. Although I hope it doesn't come out over GFWL - they force you to buy 1000 points at a time, and I don't have an Xbox.

I'm pretty sure you can just buy it from xbox.com, and you can get 400 pts at a time.

The Baron, you do not need an Xbox 360 to purchase points. The Microsoft Points work for Xbox Live, Games for Windows LIVE store and the Zune Store. Even if they have different names, they are universal points for those stores.

Yes, but I have nothing else to spend them on besides Fallout 3..

And last time I tried (for Fallout) I had to get them in an inconvenient number.

Yeah, you go out in a team of three characters and you have to manage all of their stuff. Artificial intelligence controls the other 2. Is that not squad based?

then i hope you're not planning on buying modern warfare 2, halo: ODST, or gears of war 3, because you'll be sorely disappointed.

ronE, the phrase "squad based game" is a term generally applied to games like Fallout Tactics or Jagged Alliance 2. Although Mass Effect does allow you to choose a couple buddies to follow you around, which one might easily term a "squad", the game still falls more accurately into the category of "Action RPG".

After how much dlc they promised after ME1, and how little they delivered...this should be free as an apology

But at least it's only $5, which is good since the standard price for DLC seems to be 800 points.

That price better be correct. $5 is decent and fair for 3 hr add on. If it were more expensive like the $10 you have to blow for the last 30 minutes of Prince of Persia, I'd be fumingly irate.

Since I'm coincidentally playing through ME for the second time right now, I am pretty stoked about this being released! I guess I just won't beat it until this drops!

If it's anything as good as Bring Down the Sky, it'll be great. Totally worth the five bucks.

343, you do need to be able to play from a save that allows you to captain the Normandy and choose your destinations. As long as you have any saves that allow you to do this, you'll be fine. But if your only saves are from right at the end of the game, yes, you'll need to start a new game.

I'm doing the same thing. Although I will probably beat it with my second character and play through the DLC with my original character on a higher difficulty (I need those achievements!)

Ugh. I *love* Mass Effect, but I just can't bring myself to play it a fourth time just for this DLC, especially if I have to go all the way to Spectre first. Besides, I sold my copy of the game a long time ago.

Sorry BioWare ... too little, too late. I'll be first in line to buy Mass Effect 2, though.
