Swiss Xbox.com outs Mass Effect 'Pinnacle Station' DLC [update]
Update: Reader Codemonkey76 points out that the listing is now on the US Xbox.com page right here. Interesting!
Remember when those Achievements for Mass Effect showed up online -- you know, these ones that mention Pinnacle Station? Well, the Swiss Xbox.com has offered up new details, pricing the DLC at 400
($5) and billing it as a series of battle scenarios lasting around "2–3 hours." The Swiss Xbox.com listing says the DLC has been available since June 16, an obvious error.
So, Bioware, EA, would you just officially announce Pinnacle Station already?

@The Baron
If you set up a Zune web account, you can buy points 400 at a time. Hope this helps out.
Damian @ Aug 24th 2009 12:38PM
Nice try Ballmer.
ThatPCgameryouhate @ Aug 24th 2009 5:13PM
For trying to save someone money?
Yeah, that was a douche-ass move.
ronEbear @ Aug 24th 2009 11:36AM
I hate squad based games.
Shmil @ Aug 24th 2009 11:46AM
Do you know what mass effect is?
Captain Planet [Planeteer | Power of Captain Planet] @ Aug 24th 2009 11:50AM
And if we were talking about squad based games, I'm sure they would have a similar opinion of you.
Das Boot @ Aug 24th 2009 11:50AM
Very subtle reference to a lack of Left 4 Dead DLC?
If I'm right. Gimme a cookie.
tmacairjordan87 @ Aug 24th 2009 11:54AM
I hate uninformed people
Well, the regulars here already know that. But I thought I'd let you know that too.

I see your wits are nearly as quick as your batarang, Bruce. Bravo.
Nerdy Desi @ Aug 24th 2009 11:42AM
I wonder if the PC release will be free like the "Bring Down The Sky" DLC? Hope it comes out the same time as the 360 version or not much longer out!
The Baron @ Aug 24th 2009 11:44AM
I'd probably still pay for it. Although I hope it doesn't come out over GFWL - they force you to buy 1000 points at a time, and I don't have an Xbox.
seriousam7 @ Aug 24th 2009 12:31PM
I'm pretty sure you can just buy it from xbox.com, and you can get 400 pts at a time.
ballistic3188 @ Aug 24th 2009 1:06PM
agreed. want some pc dlc details.
Nerdy Desi @ Aug 24th 2009 1:09PM
The Baron, you do not need an Xbox 360 to purchase points. The Microsoft Points work for Xbox Live, Games for Windows LIVE store and the Zune Store. Even if they have different names, they are universal points for those stores.
The Baron @ Aug 24th 2009 2:15PM
Yes, but I have nothing else to spend them on besides Fallout 3..
And last time I tried (for Fallout) I had to get them in an inconvenient number.
Latin_Trident @ Aug 24th 2009 11:47AM
please post the DLC already. it's driving me nuts!
ronEbear @ Aug 24th 2009 11:50AM
Yeah, you go out in a team of three characters and you have to manage all of their stuff. Artificial intelligence controls the other 2. Is that not squad based?
Captain Planet [Planeteer | Power of Captain Planet] @ Aug 24th 2009 11:59AM
On behalf of the Internet...welcome!!
David @ Aug 24th 2009 12:28PM
then i hope you're not planning on buying modern warfare 2, halo: ODST, or gears of war 3, because you'll be sorely disappointed.
Jeff Rebbeck @ Aug 24th 2009 1:28PM
ronE, the phrase "squad based game" is a term generally applied to games like Fallout Tactics or Jagged Alliance 2. Although Mass Effect does allow you to choose a couple buddies to follow you around, which one might easily term a "squad", the game still falls more accurately into the category of "Action RPG".
Crusty Magic @ Aug 24th 2009 11:52AM
I'll gladly fork over $5 bucks for this.
tmacairjordan87 @ Aug 24th 2009 11:56AM
After how much dlc they promised after ME1, and how little they delivered...this should be free as an apology
But at least it's only $5, which is good since the standard price for DLC seems to be 800 points.
SecretAgentHam @ Aug 24th 2009 11:57AM
hm. have to re purchase a copy of this (friend scratched teh shit out of my LE copy)
cannot wait to get my hands on this DLC
whylekat @ Aug 24th 2009 12:02PM
That price better be correct. $5 is decent and fair for 3 hr add on. If it were more expensive like the $10 you have to blow for the last 30 minutes of Prince of Persia, I'd be fumingly irate.
BxGT @ Aug 24th 2009 12:08PM
GODDAHM SAMOFLANGE!
WiNG [XBL&Steam: WiNGSPANTT] from lifeinagame.com @ Aug 24th 2009 12:20PM
I WILL DESTROY YOU!I WILL DESTROY YOU!
ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!
Jerk Face @ Aug 24th 2009 12:39PM
Since I'm coincidentally playing through ME for the second time right now, I am pretty stoked about this being released! I guess I just won't beat it until this drops!
If it's anything as good as Bring Down the Sky, it'll be great. Totally worth the five bucks.
343 Guilty Fart @ Aug 24th 2009 1:04PM
Don't you have to start a new game in order to utilize ME DLC?
Nerdy Desi @ Aug 24th 2009 1:10PM
No you don't.
Jeff Rebbeck @ Aug 24th 2009 1:23PM
343, you do need to be able to play from a save that allows you to captain the Normandy and choose your destinations. As long as you have any saves that allow you to do this, you'll be fine. But if your only saves are from right at the end of the game, yes, you'll need to start a new game.
Rocket Raccoon @ Aug 24th 2009 2:35PM
I'm doing the same thing. Although I will probably beat it with my second character and play through the DLC with my original character on a higher difficulty (I need those achievements!)
CodeMonkey76 @ Aug 24th 2009 1:28PM
It's not just the Swiss Xbox.com site....
The Mass Effect DLC description is up on the English site as well people.

Hey I have 400 points left!
HOW CONVENIENT!
tabicat @ Aug 24th 2009 3:16PM
Ugh. I *love* Mass Effect, but I just can't bring myself to play it a fourth time just for this DLC, especially if I have to go all the way to Spectre first. Besides, I sold my copy of the game a long time ago.
Sorry BioWare ... too little, too late. I'll be first in line to buy Mass Effect 2, though.
The Dark Wayne @ Aug 24th 2009 4:22PM
Wow, i just sent a tip in about this, but now there's even a Pinnacle Station Premium theme on XBLM
