Tatsunoko vs Capcom's four new characters to be revealed at TGS 2009

Capcom have revealed it will announce four new characters for the US and European release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom at the 2009 Tokyo Game Show. The four characters -- two from Capcom and two from Tatsunoko -- were teased to Gamespot at GamesCom by producer Ryota Niitsuma, but the game's producer would not name the additions. We're still holding out hope for some Phoenix Wright love, even though the fighting game's dev team claimed the character was once added but removed due to balance issues.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars adds animproved online mode, with skill level matchmaking allowing US and European players to face-off against gamers from around the world. A release date has yet to be revealed for the Wii-exclusive, but we're almost positive that whatever it is, it won't be soon enough.

Then mod it with Gamecube or Wii functionality. There's quite a few tutorials on Shoryuken that instruct you on how.
The producer of the game said a 360/PS3 port would essentially require rebuilding the game for scratch, so they didn't feel it was worth the effort. So unless you're willing to fund the development yourself, it isn't going to happen.

The Classic Controller isn't really that great man but ok. I would prefer a 360 or PS3 port but itll do on Wii. The lower-res graphics are really a bigger problem to me. The game actually looks great, the resolution is going to kill it though.

The Hori Wii stick is pretty readily available, though it's unfortunately difficult to mod with better parts unless you're confident in your soldering skills. I still find it more than adequate for playing Samurai Shodown with my roommate, though, even if the buttons feel a bit stiff.
Seriously, get a stick. The PS3 and 360 stock pads suck about as much as the remote for fighters.

I love Capcom...and really hope they pick two ridiculous characters from their history instead of Street Fighter Characters (as much as I love Street Fighter (and I really do)).
Maybe Maximo and Nemesis? That would be pretty ridiculous.

Maximo would prompt the Capcom side to outnumber Tatsunoko's swordsman.
Also, I can see Nemesis being played like Omega Red and displaying his tentacles right in front of Jun the Swan, in his ending. *cringes*

I hope they include by Tatsunoko side: Speed Racer and Samurai Cats, and from Capcom, Zack & Wiki and Phoenix Wright.

Perfect choice from tatsunoko's side ... but .... i vote Ammy instead of Phoenix Wright for capcom.
Or Captain Comando ... or the dead rising guy .... or Jill Valentine (since every resident evil except the fps and portable ones is playble on wii...) ... or Dante ... or the bionic comando dude ... or that power stone aviator .... or ...strider ... or ... ryu from breath of fire .... or ...
....but will probably will be someone from Monster Hunter =P

I'm pulling for Nurse Witch Komugi and Speed Racer (even though they said he was out on ComicCon) for the Tatsunoko side, and Gene from God Hand and either Frank West or Ammy for the Capcom side.
I definitely DON'T want to see popular characters like Dante or Leon there. I like the fact that, with the exception of Ryu and Chun Li (who you *have* to have in a fighting game like this), the rest of the cast on the Capcom side are all pretty much forgotten characters.

i seem to remember that kamiya's a little mad that Capcom's been abusing Dante, so he's likely out.
I don't understand why they can't just make Phoenix Wright shout Objection in English in both versions (since the vast majority of Japanese have an understanding of Romaji, and most have a basic grasp of English), and just make it a harder move to pull off if it's going to be so unbalancing, or just re-balance him so that he has a glaring error in spite of his awesome exclamatory attack.

The smartest way to incorporate Phoenix Wright's Objection attack for the English version would be to break it up into 3 syllables plus the exclamation point, I think.
I'm pretty sure they said the Japanese one would have been a 4 hit attack, so in the english version, all they'd have to do is have the letters 'OB' hit, then 'JEC', 'TION' and '!' hit.
That's what I would do, at least.

Proper name is Okami Amaterasu. Or Ammy for short.

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm on the fence right now but if they add either Dante or Amaterasu then I'm sold.

Amaterasu, I'm guessing is who you're referencing. And she's a sun goddess wolf.
Which would, sorta, make sense seeing how they already have ANOTHER Okami character in the game.

I thought we were supposed to get 5 new characters, or perhaps Phoenix really was the 5th and they were serious about the balancing issue.
but yeah Speed Racer or one of his supporting characters is a must. After all, next to Samurai Pizza Cats and Gatchaman/Battle Of The Planets/G-Force, Speed Racer is the most familiar Tatsunoko property amongst Americans

An odd number of characters would make sense, seeing how Hakushon Daimaoh (the sneezing genie) will be removed from the English release, due to licensing issues. 3 new characters from Tatsunoko, and 2 new characters from Capcom would keep both sides even.

Well, each dub was done by a different company... so there's licensing issues there.

Don't you mean adds an online mode? For it to be improved, there'd have to be an online mode to begin with. The Japanaese TvC was an offline-only affair.

I hope this game has an online mode doubt it though since the Jap version shipped without the feature.

Hell, any capcom character is fantastic. Personally, I'm torn between Amaterasu and Frank West, since Jawmuncher made me cry with joy just now. But hey, Viewtiful Joe, Dante, or Leon would still make this pre-order business.

1. Who's replacing Daimaou? Originally, didn't Capcom say that it's 3 Tatsunoko : 2 Capcom?
2. I pray for Jin Saotome from Cyberbots and Tessa from Red Earth, seeing how both games didn't make it... in America!
