Chris @ Aug 25th 2009 2:04AM
First.
Of course they're going to say it's good.
WiredKnight @ Aug 25th 2009 2:06AM
I'm glad they got the physics right on Nyjah's dreads.
MystileArmor @ Aug 25th 2009 10:16AM
Yeah cause someones hairdo is the most important aspect of skateboarding. As long as his luscious locks flapper right in the wind, we don't give a shit about the actual skateboard physics, right?
Araskaz @ Aug 25th 2009 1:30PM
Calm down, he never said that. He's glad the they got it right, but he probably doesnt raise that as the most important aspect...
I'm glad that when you roll around and MGS3, the grass moves. Does that mean I think it's the most important aspect of the game? Chill out.
WiredKnight @ Aug 25th 2009 2:16PM
@Mystile
Time to tune up your sarcasm detector. It doesn't seem to be working.
MystileArmor @ Aug 25th 2009 2:29PM
Yeah my sarcasm detector broke, sorry about that. You'd be surprised though how some people are. I've heard someone say with a previous TH game "They'd better have my shoes in the game, otherwise I'm not buying it".
Noxat @ Aug 25th 2009 2:07AM
A week after release, after everyone is sick of the plastic skateboard gimmick, I hope they have some decent standard controls lined up.
DeepFriedSushi @ Aug 25th 2009 2:10AM
the sound is absolutely shitty in this video. you have to try to make it this bad.
Lambrick @ Aug 25th 2009 2:18AM
it's not the sounds that's bad, per se, but the editing. some genius forgot to put in most of the "testimonial" audio, leaving us with crappy filler music.
Stevetrop @ Aug 25th 2009 2:39AM
Yea I have to agree the sound on this video is shitty. I guess its all for the better I suppose. It's as if who ever made this video just wanted to not let up hear them raving about this and play the music.
If nothing else they should have provided better music. Alice in Chains can never hurt. Remember that
Blessed Ossoona @ Aug 25th 2009 5:52PM
Wow... I thought my computer was glitching, what type of editor shows people talking but doesn't let us hear what they say?... not that I really want to, I just get a laugh out of seeing this stupid game.
ripslymemc @ Aug 25th 2009 2:11AM
I hope you don't need the balance real skateboarders have when you play these things...
WiredKnight @ Aug 25th 2009 2:12AM
Of course not, it's Tony Hawk, you have to have the balance of Superman to get anywhere close to the high scores.
False @ Aug 25th 2009 3:04AM
Too bad I have the balance of Drunken Iron Man
Ridgecity @ Aug 25th 2009 3:00AM
Most pro players always hate that they cant play the games they are featured on. If these guys say otherside, it's either it's freekin good, or they already got paid for the sequel appearance.
B @ Aug 25th 2009 3:08AM
Looks like someone forgot the audio
Darkdrium777 @ Aug 25th 2009 3:18AM
"Can you believe they absolutely love it?"
Wouldn't know. They didn't say anything about the game this time.
CzAr @ Aug 25th 2009 3:53AM
The game is so good, they're speechless.
Paulo Eifel @ Aug 25th 2009 4:22AM
I played it at Gamescom this weekend. It was quite nice actually but I`m pretty sure it`ll get old fast!
We`ll see but I`m definitely not spending 100Euros on that thing..
Cheers
Psychokinetic @ Aug 25th 2009 4:35AM
How much did Activision pay them to say that that is good?
Psychokinetic @ Aug 25th 2009 4:37AM
yeah :P i know that they only speak half the time, i just like saying that :P
greqo @ Aug 25th 2009 5:01AM
I wish i could rent this.
prodigy69 @ Aug 25th 2009 7:44AM
it's amazing what money can make you say
overflow @ Aug 25th 2009 11:20AM
it's amazing what money can make you swallow.
douglas @ Aug 25th 2009 7:51AM
Who knows, perhaps it is a good game afterall? Majority of the older tony hawk games are all great games individually, the only reason why we're ripping on this is because we're tired of the hawk, and we're too cheap to buy another controller
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Aug 25th 2009 8:32AM
So true, Hawks 1-3 blew my mind. I wish the series still had that kind of magic.
jbni @ Aug 25th 2009 8:56AM
It isn't a sound problem.
They just censured out any negative comments. :P
butaneko @ Aug 25th 2009 9:02AM
I'll admit I went from not giving this game a second thought to really wanting to try it. I'd probably buy it for $80? Maybe?
Crazy-008 @ Aug 25th 2009 9:46AM
May god have mercy on your soul.
TheCoats @ Aug 25th 2009 10:12AM
Dear TH team,
I think I will pass, but I have to say I am sorry that me and the TH games had to have this break-up. It wasn't me, it was you. I would have been very content repurchasing an updated THPS2 with better graphics, if this meant, of course, that i could play graffiti mode online. But no, you had to offer me this and ask me to make a very big comitment to you. I am sorry because of your recent failures (anything after THPS3, with the exception of maybe THUG), I can not make this comitment. Prove to me you can bring your franchise back up to a level were I can trust you and maybe then we can start over. I am just to scared of getting sonic'd all over again. So,I guess this means we should go our seperate ways. I will always remember the good times we had and hope one day we can still be friends.
love,
TheC0A7S
incubeezer @ Aug 25th 2009 10:19AM
where do you have sex with a Tony Hawk?
MystileArmor @ Aug 25th 2009 10:29AM
Activision HQ, or so I heard it was full of money hungry whores.
MystileArmor @ Aug 25th 2009 10:27AM
Wow... I was kind of skeptical when I first heard about the whole board peripheral, but after seeing the gameplay it's yet the same old Tony Hawk game with generic ass controls, crazy fucking fast fliptricks where you can't even tell what happened.
I'll just wait for Skate 3, a game I can play while having a beer or two without having to restrain myself from kickflipping a board into my tv set. A game that, despite not having a peripheral, actually feels more like skateboarding then this game looks to be doing.
Since when was skateboarding about going 120mph down a ledge or doing 45 fliptricks within one jump?
Skateboarding to me was always about relaxing, about the flow and about nailing that one trick on a certain object or gap. Not about skateboarding like a fucking nascar driver.
Meh... just woke up, had to vent I suppose.
WiredKnight @ Aug 25th 2009 2:19PM
"Since when was skateboarding about going 120mph down a ledge or doing 45 fliptricks within one jump?"
Since about when THUG came out.
rollntider @ Aug 25th 2009 11:19AM
"This is the best turd we could find to polish" - random Pro Skater
or better yet...
"This is the worlds best ever skate game that comes with a crappy peripheral" - random pro skater
Kdiggy @ Aug 25th 2009 11:27AM
Many of these skaters have probably suffered head trauma at some point in there career... I'm not convinced.
Lurkero @ Aug 25th 2009 12:10PM
More pro skaters heap praise on Tony Hawk Ride...AFTER the check clears
rubAdub72 @ Aug 25th 2009 4:00PM
WTF? the editor was drunk or something? audio is randomly loud and silent, and the idea of putting the skaters on mute before actually talking was f***in stupid...
[Donald Trump mode] You're FIRED!
airtoast @ Aug 25th 2009 4:05PM
Seeing this abomination of a game makes me think of a famous quote from River City Ransom.
"BARF!"
Deedubbadoo @ Aug 25th 2009 4:53PM
Still no option for a regular controller? Still no money from me!
kevin @ Sep 2nd 2009 2:43PM
Looks.
So.
...
Nope, there's no word for how terrible this game looks.
