@LiqwidZero
"Free controller packaged separately" theres no bundle with 2 controllers in the box.
"Quantities limited; No rain checks" theyre obviously trying to clear existing stock.

Gimped "Elite" 360 FTW??

Aside from this newHalo 3 bundle I still say the Elite 360 Bundle with Halo3/Fable2 was the Best Elite bundle ever....Kinda glad I got mine when I did Dont feel ripped off for getting min back in march at all(aside from I could have waited a month to get the BETTER bundle)

I'm going to buy the Elite once the drop is official, and I also thought whether or not the new bundle will be the same as the GOTY bundle. I hope it's so, but something tells me Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indie will be my compensation instead.

No mention of an Arcade price drop hmm?
I think that would be the smartest idea, especially since it doesn't come with a hard drive, it should be the cheapest console on the market.

But of course they need the Elite down to $299 to compete with new PS3 prices..

In defense of the Arcade model, it already is the cheapest console on the market.

It's priced $50 less than a Wii and has 512Mbits as a sort of pre-installed memory card (akin to the Wii's 512Mbits). Also, it has a wider variety of good games availabile, rather than loads of shovelware.

$199 and $299 are real respectable price points.

of course you hear them tell it, its no competition...

I mean unless there is some SERIOUS Corporate Espionage both companies seemed to have made their own price drop judgments most likely off of anticipation of the other dropping prices....but how did MS know Sony was going to have a 120GB model?? and is a 250GB 360 on the way as well? or are they going to stay with just 2 SKU's until "Project Natal"?

yeah I'm definitely waiting on a arcade price drop. as it stands, it may be the cheapest but it's still too much considering what you get.

I wish I had picked up another Halo 3 edition 360 when Hot Topic was clearancing them for $199 about a year ago. :( I'm sure MS has a crap load of 20GB drivers; put them suckers up as refurbs for $30. I'd set up one as a dedicated RB drive - the one time I'd be willing to swap HDs.

How is it a better deal? Its the same thing with an extra 60gigs of HD space, which, frankly, most people won't use. I'd rather have the extra controller than the more hard drive space.

really, i still have a 20GB, and i get along just fine. i just have to delete old game demos every now and then, and i only have room for maybe 1 game install (i just don't bother and save the room for DLC and demos). i don't really mind just using the disks though. of course other people's mileage will vary.

I guess I'm not looking at the overall picture. I just find the Elite more appealing right now because I already have the 120gb and only have about 20gb left of storage, and only have a few games installed. I must say the $299 PS3 Slim is a great deal as well.

What I was mainly nodding at was if in the event you wanted to upgrade to the 120gb after buying the pro, you will have to shell out a lot extra for a replacement rather than getting it from the start for an extra $50.

Wow I think MS and Sony have just called it a truce.

There is no way you shouldn't have both systems or be working towards getting them both. I adopted early and paid top price for both. Now all of the savvy people (at least those that haven't turned fanboy) can have the best of both worlds for a measly $550!

Working for Best Buy, and having seen next week's ad, I can confirm that the elites that WE have in stock will be dropping to 299.99 and the current pros will drop down to 249.99

which is the same thing target is doing, only target is doing it better.

I can confirm you that that is a real picture because I took that yesterday at work. I still have the original picture taken from my camera and made a video of me flipping the pages.
As you can see I was credited on engadgets site for this photo.

Take that silly "Rumor" out because the sale is this Sunday.

A 360 for $250 or a new motherboard and processor for $700...

New mobo and processor it is!

Eh, I already own a 360 but I gotta say I'm still not impressed by any of these price cuts. If they're going to compete with the built-in features of the PS3 slim at $299, they're gonna have to do a lot better than a Pro w/ 2nd controller at $249, or a $299 Elite with virtually nothing included. The Elite Halo 3 bundle w/ wi-fi is the only thing that's come close, but it's still unclear if that's coming to the states or not.

I think they should have kept the Pro at $299 and included Wi-Fi, HDMI, and a game.

I may actually get a 360 now just because this kind of deal wont happen again for a long time. Ive been putting it off because every game Ive wanted has eventually come out for PC. Once I start thinking about it Im still able to get every game I want for it on PC (or eventually will)... must resist the urge to impulse buy.
