Command & Conquer 4 subtitled 'Tiberian Twilight'

For example, we thought you real-time strategy fans would be interested to hear that the fourth installment of Command and Conquer had been subtitled "Tiberian Twilight," presumably because it supposedly brings the Tiberium story arc to a close. EA says more than 15,000 fans voted to select the name.
For you non-strategy fans, we've provided the following zingers on the subtitle.
- "Tiberium Twilight? That series should have been put to bed years ago."
- "Tiberium Twilight? Is that because it'll put us right to sleep?"
- "Tiberium Twilight? As if it wasn't bad enough, now they're adding vampires that sparkle in the sunlight?"
- "Tiberium Twilight? Wouldn't 'The Newest Command and Conquer Until Around Six Months From Now When We Release Another' have been more accurate?"

Besides playable Nod and GDI campaigns.
There will also be a third campaign based off vampires.
Skaz @ Aug 27th 2009 7:38AM
And there will be a night/day system where their skin glistens when it's twilight?
arkweld @ Aug 26th 2009 5:23PM
Tiberian or Tiberium?

they screwed up at some point and now they use them interchangeably.
MarkHawk @ Aug 26th 2009 5:36PM
Should be Tiberian.
XGM @ Aug 26th 2009 5:40PM
Westwood used Tiberian (Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun).
EA used Tiberium Wars.
arkweld @ Aug 26th 2009 5:51PM
I mean the post.
Joystiq have four "zingers" about the subtitle that all use "Tiberium" when the subtitle is "Tiberian."

"they screwed up at some point and now they use them interchangeably."
Tiberium is the substance, Tiberian is a descriptive term, like fishy when compared to fish. As far as titles go, it should probably be Tiberian, but it doesn't really matter. Besides, AFAIK westwood never officially called the original C&C Tiberian Dawn, it's just what it's usually called in the community (presumably due to Tiberian Sun and to differentiate it from RA, and Gens if you count that as C&C - I don't, but it's still a great game). I might be wrong though.
Sorry if I'm rambling a bit, I'm feeling a little ill, so I'm not what you might call lucid. *hopes it isn't swine flu*

Thank you - I can't keep track of them anymore.

Uhhhhh...
1995 - Command & Conquer
1996 - Command & Conquer: Red Alert
1999 - Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun
2000 - Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2
2002 - Command & Conquer: Renegade
2003 - Command & Conquer: Generals
2007 - Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
2008 - Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
2010 - Command & Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight
You must be referring to the expansion packs that are released about 6-8 months after the initial release per game.
MuToiD_MaN @ Aug 26th 2009 5:49PM
It's the adjective not a noun, EAdiots.
arkweld @ Aug 26th 2009 5:53PM
still works though.
It's a twilight that has been caused by tiberium.
Alphathon @ Aug 31st 2009 12:21PM
Yeah, it should really be Tiberian, but honestly it doesn't matter that much
Mechanical @ Aug 26th 2009 5:59PM
Oh God, I can already hear the old Westwood-worshiping slack-jaws in an uproar over this.
Bearxor @ Aug 26th 2009 8:31PM
Why? Us old C&C fans always thought the third one was going to be name Tiberian Twilight. I'm glad it wasn't since it wasn't the end. It's a fitting name since the first two games in the series were named Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun.
Mechanical @ Aug 26th 2009 9:48PM
Well, I was singling out the brain-dead ones. I used to be in the C&C modding community. It's what I remember best when I left: Absolute hatred for anything to do with EA, regardless of prior community opinion. Maybe they've gotten better since C&C 3 was announced, though.

>_>
Twilight...
WiredKnight @ Aug 26th 2009 9:18PM
I wish I could downvote the whole post just for #3. I appreciate a good joke as much as the next person, but this time you've gone too far.
Sweetjohnnycage @ Aug 26th 2009 11:37PM
Am I the only one who thought Tiberium Wars looked promising? I'm not an RTS fan, aside from Age of Empires 1 & 2, so idk anything about C&C. I thought the gameplay of the alpha looked awesome and the weapons were very cool.
Alphathon @ Aug 31st 2009 12:28PM
What do you meen looked promising? Did you think it looked good but never play it or something? Or are you maybe talking about C&C4? If you did meen C&C4 then I dunno. It basically looks like a Minor graphics upgrade to C&C3 with dumbed down gameplay, but then they havn't shown much yet
Snake Robot Podium @ Aug 27th 2009 11:21AM
No list of rejected names? No link to the source page so I can look at them? I should not have to Google this myself...
Snake Robot Podium @ Aug 27th 2009 11:24AM
Oh, i thought users voted on a selection of names. Even so, [citation needed]
