Instead of sharing images of its Modern Warfare 2 peripheral lineup with us yesterday, when they announced everything, Mad Catz has given IGN a "worldwide exclusive" video tour which (and maybe it's just us) isn't quite as effective at triggering our consumer gland as some good, ol' fashioned photos. Nevertheless, the highlight of the video lineup is, undoubtedly, the "Combat Controller" for both Xbox 360 and PS3. They each go for $50 (yeah, that's the approximate manufacturer's suggested price for the first-party controllers!) but that $50 doesn't quite get you a first-party experience.
As shown in the video, the Combat Controllers feature special finger buttons on the bottom of the gamepad and both mirror the general design of their first-party counterpart; however, the Xbox 360 version isn't wireless and the PS3 version lacks rumble. No, really. They also show some other accessories: the $30 "military inspired" Throat Communicator is perfect for snacking while gaming they tell us; the $25 Combat Gamepad for PCs is curiously not on par with the console counterparts; and the lineup of keyboards and mice seem like overkill to us.
But don't take our word for it, you'll find the video just after the break.

Oh it's LIKE a military-grade communication device that picks up the vibrations from your throat... but it's actually just a cheap mic you hang around your neck.
The standard of console microphones isn't exactly high as it is. Come release the MW2 servers will be full of people on the 360 bellowing at each other.
The PS3 one lacks for a charging stand too...
I thought the whole idea was that they had the means, time, and money to offer something MORE than first party? Not less?

Peeps, take a look at a 2 yr chart of Mad Catz (MCZ) stock. That should tell you all you need to know about the quality and innovation of their merchandise.

No rumble fuck that shit. I've already been through that crap with Sony, now I have to first party dual shocks and don't need anything else.

Hmm....not really interested in any of these (if they were $40 considering they're wired, I might get one)
However I am interested in the "Night Vision backlighting"
Combine that with the fact that you can get a version of the game with Night Vision goggles, and I have a strong feeling that MW2 is going to have a LOT of night missions and/or uses for night vision.
Pitch black multiplayer maps? Yes please.
Rolling blackouts on a multiplayer map? WAY yes, that'd be awesome!

i love my FightPad, definitely a huge improvement over the standard 360 dpad. the MW controllers dont impress me but i was really interested in the subvocal mic, until i saw that it was just a regular mic strapped to your neck.

I actually like the wired xbox controller. I can use it for both my PC and Xbox, does the wired xbox controller work for PC like the 1st party controller? That's make or break.

Honestly, mad catz products were never of high quality.
My choice in not buying any of this stuff is mainly that fat British guy. What a turn off he is to the whole thing. Who though, hey lets get the fattest man here to show it off!
Lame

Great job MadCatz take away the rumble and the wireless controller and sell it for 50 bucks. I sense milking all around this game, if Activision plans on doing this again on the next Call of Duty game I'm going slap the manager's face and RP.
