I downloaded PlayOn when it first came out and after trying it for 30 days I was so impressed that I actually paid for the license. I am not normally the type to pay that much for something like this but it did such a wonderful job of giving me access to TV so that I don't have to pay for cable.

I should also note that the software has gotten much better and the only real constraints the software itself has is that your choice of antivirus can cause a major headache. I tried using avast! but PlayOn quit working and they told me to use AVG instead.

The advantage of of using this is access to things other than Netflix and now that my 360 red ringed I can watch Netflix on my hacked XBMC.

I'm not sure why I just wouldn't plug my computer into my TV. Then, I can stream whatever I want!

Oh, HDMI cable, is there nothing you can't do?

There are many of reasons....Here is only a few in my case

1. I don't have a laptop with an hdmi cable. Nor does my AV receiver have one. I use a projector in my media room so i'm not plugging into that.

2. Even if I could I would have a cable sprawled across the floor because you cannot cheaply (ahem under 40$) control you PC at 10/12 feet away. Or you could have a huge keyboard and mouse maybe bluetooth...its large and again costs more than 40 dollars. Or evey time a show ends get up walk to the pc click on the next video like we did what....in the 50's?

3. Id have to buy a 500 dollar laptop at least to get hdmi hell prolly more expensive.I already have a PC I can load playon though...

4. I have the 360 ps3 in my media room so they play playon just fine. Then my wii in the living room and a media extender the bedroom. So for everyroom I want to watch this content I can just sit down use the remote watch away...or I could carry a laptop around buy cables for each location and carry around the keyboard and mouse to each room to that would be fun...

Well, since I got no replies to MY earlier post, I can now say definitely that this works pretty sweet on the Wii. :) For the first time, I am actually able to view Hulu on my TV via my Wii. YAY! The menu system, of course, is not as easy to use/navigate as using Hulu on a PC, but it still works great. Full screen view. Runs at a smooth frame rate. Only problem with viewing on the Wii I have found is that you occasionally have to reload the page, because of the memory restriction. But an easy fix for this is just to reload the menu page of Hulu when you are out there to clear the memory for the next vid. I will try other channels later on, but just enjoying Hulu for now. :)

Another plus: I can also finally watch GameTrailers shows/reviews on my TV via my Wii. I think I will definitely purchase this software when my free trial runs up. :) This is awesome.

For those of you who have used PlayOn for streaming video to BOTH a PS3 and 360, do you notice any difference in picture quality? I thinking about buying either a 360 or PS3 primarily for streaming video and don't know which one would be best.

Thanks for your comments!
