While we admittedly don't frequent Home on a regular basis, we are glad to see that SCEA has designed a catchy promo to end their videos with. The redesigned PS3 logo and the slogan "It Only Does Everything" is a great statement that really makes clear the PS3's ability to play more than games. Now if only SCEA would bother going on a marketing campaign like its European counterpart ...

Wait for it, just wait for it.
"THERE GOES SONY AGAIN, ARROGANT AS USUAL."
I don't see it as such though. It's confidence. And while people always bash it for its price, it really does SO much for its price. I like it, I just hope others do too, because it does seem kinda.. ballsy.

Obviously, I'm referring to the tagline. Regarding Home, I don't really ever go Home. Not that I'm against it, but I feel like I have no reason to (I'm still trying to "get" it, I guess). I'm hearing some good news coming out of it though, and I guess I should try it again. Don't get me wrong, I WANT to like it, I just need to give it a chance. If my PSN friends would go online more often, I'd try to go there together. =/

I personally love Home, sure it could have a lot more usefull features but it gets updated pretty rapidly. It really does help to have other friends interested in it though.

Lol you should change your friends :P I always erase the ones that i never talk, play or play madden all the time.
Home is just a place to relax (if its raining lol), to find friends to play games with, or even to play the games home have to offer like poker, bowling, cars, the one in the pound, red bull plane, themed minigames (resistance, siren, buzz, etc). You can also join tournaments.
If anyone like to add me my psn id is "xJERSESx"

It does everything but let you chat with friends.

You can chat with anyone, regardless of what game they're playing.

You said you wanted to chat with friends. You can. Text chat is still, you know, chat.
I guess I see that it would be a bit of a hassle for the most part, but you'd have to halt gameplay to go over to the guy's user ID just to leave a voice message anyway. Starting a text message and simply saying "hey, come join this game," if you aren't hunting-and-pecking, it would take you just about as long.

animated tshirts have like a month...there were only like 4 for the price of 2.99 i think. They should add night transition in home so they can glow intense :P
Also i hate the photoframe...it only let you add 5 photos (with bad quality) and you cant move them from the 5 predefined location :S And the wooden frame is just look to old...i need a frame that match my apartment loft style. Sorry for my english :P

Why did I ever download Home? I'm not into social networking - it really is a waste of my precious PS3 80gb of space.

Oh goodie, I was waiting for the flood of people complaining about Home & stating that it's "useless" or that they "never use it".Seriously, why would you even bother to read, much less comment on a damn article about something that you supposedly don't care about?

For the record, though I did say I hardly ever use it, I did compliment Sony on their vast improvements to the service, and I did say that not having many friends who are online has halted my journey back Home lately.
If someone's going to be rude and yell at Home just to yell at Home, yes, that's annoying. But if you like Home, why not feel good about the fact that people admit that they don't use it much, yet express interest in new features, meaning that it will be more populated, resulting in Sony realizing what works for its community, and thus helping it become even better? All I'm saying is that not everyone here is trying to be rude about it. ;)

Home needs to get some sort of streaming video service like the apparently awesome Netflix setup on the 360. then it'll officially only do everything...
Posted: Aug 26th 2009 2:45PM (Unverified) said
you can watch videos on the ps3 web browser and if you like to watch netflix on it you can use the media server. On the 360 you cant web browser places like Hulu, megavideo...megaporn :P, youtube, etc, etc, etc.
Also, home has its own theather...even if its just trailers, its for free.
Netflix on the 360 will be crap anyway. it will not stream on HD.

That's all well and good with PlayOn except that it doesn't exist in the US!
(I've been trying to get my friend to buy a ps3 but he keeps citing this feature as why he wants to stick with the 360).

Why does every 360 avatar dress-up doll update seem to make the front page, but the majority of Playstation's Home's full featured updates get relegated to the Playstation only portion of the site?

It's weird. I mean rumor is Home is making piles of money for Sony, but no one here admits going to Home regularly. Maybe it's like fetish porn: Everyone looks, but few admit it. For me, it's a hook to show my Sims 2 addicted spouse now and again. But I can't say I've actually spent any money on it.
'course you know I haven't checked snopes.com on the rumor that Home is very profitable...

The funny thing about Home is that on the European side of Home the movie theater is still bettter than here and it gets more motion picture marketing than over here. There was a "game" for Transformers that earned you 4 free shirts and for GI Joe there was free Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Duke & Barones outfits and a free shirt for trying the flash shooting range. Hell even Star Trek gave out free stuff over there. The Visari Palace has been out over there for about 2 months now. Granted it is good marketing for over there.
Can't wait for version 1.3 when everyone has to redownload everything.

The only thing home is missing is a 3rd person shooter game. Free to play but you can buy other guns for a small fee. Sony if your listening DO IT!!!
