Don't fret -- Quantic Dream founder David Cage isn't planning on charging you for the ending to the studio's upcoming Heavy Rain. In a recent interview with VideoGamer.com, Cage explained that the game's eight to ten hour story was "a self-contained experience," but that Quantic is "talking with Sony at the moment about having maybe extra downloadable content, maybe with prequels or sequels about the characters." He added that players will most likely "get attached to some of them and will want to know them even better."
We don't doubt Quantic Dream's proven ability to tell captivating stories, but we have one qualm with this statement -- what if all our characters get offed by the Origami Killer? Sure, the prequels could ostensibly still work, but sequels starring corpses probably wouldn't be that interesting.

Sorry, in a skimming mood today. But it's the same thought, no?

8-10 hours for the main game? I know it would probably be best to spread it out over a few days, to savor it as long as I can, but screw it, I'm taking a day off work and playing through the entire thing. I am so excited for this game. :D

This makes me that much more excited about the game. The story aspect of the game sounds like the next iteration of the adventure genre, and more is definitely better here.

Well the point is to keep them alive. If you create a sequel that would go off of the main storyline you would assume that you as the player managed to NOT kill everyone.
Now if they add in some sort of logic that will read your data and if say one character died it will block you from getting the DLC, well that would be fucking awesome.

Yeah, I guess the point would be to where you can finish it if the characters die, but that you're encouraged to try it again, because though it's the same game, keeping the characters alive changes the story so much.

meant to play once?
The whole point of this game is that you can play it 10 times and get 10 different outcomes. This is the type of game thats all about experimenting and not starting over from a checkpoint.

This actualy takes some Hype away for me. Sequells of a Game that is suposed to have extrem flexebilety and at least 20 endings? - I am sorry, but either this Sequel DLC is gigantic or the game dos not hold up to what it is hyped.
I actualy thought of some DLC already.. like an extra character for example, play the story from the Killers view... that would be greatness. But Seuqells...

I mean, there is at least 15 Combinations by who is dead and who is not... let alone story contend, there will be more than one way you can be alive (if this game holds up to what it is hyped to be)
A Sequell must be Gigantic even if it´s only very short, becaus it needs to take everytehing that happend before in conciderration... seriusly, DLC Sequels for this game sound like a real bummer for the main game. :-(
