First screens of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars PSP hijacked
67
PSP owners expecting a Liberty City Stories-styled facelift for the upcoming port of Chinatown Wars may be a little disappointed. One glance at the first batch of PSP screenshots shows that the game hasn't strayed far from its DS origins. Sure, the enhanced lighting effects and widescreen presentation are noticeable improvements, but it's clear that this GTA isn't pushing the hardware in any significant way.
Hopefully, the visuals won't stop PSP owners from checking out the game. It may be a port of a DS game, but it's a port of one of the best DS games ever. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be available on UMD and PSN on October 20.

More people need to buy the DS version. It's fantastic. I'm sure this will still be just as good. For any of you complaining about this port, be quiet. Your probably the people that judged the DS version and didn't buy it.
It deserved to be a multi-million seller.

I personally don't mind the top down view at all and am surprised to see so many complaining about it.

no one is complaining about the top down view (except that tard Tmac) mostly everyone complains that the graphics look like a... well... DS game. Compared to the last 2 GTA games that came out on the PSP, its pretty bad.
gameplay wise and story wise, it may turn out to be good

Why was everyone expecting a face lift? They didn't change the name, or add EX, Directors Cut, etc. etc. It's a port. It's been said to be one from day one.

Sooo... when it comes out on PS2... it'll look like GTA1? Brilliant.

Have you ever played GTA1?
No matter how bad you think this game looks, it's still years ahead of GTA1.

the logic of many of your comments is astounding: a great game becomes a poor game simply because it moves from one console to another?
purely retarded.

Looks fine to me. I wasn't expecting them to redo the entire engine. Played it only alittle bit on DS and definitively won't miss it a second time.
