Sony continues its third-party publishing strategy in PAL territories today by taking up Codemasters' DiRT 2. Unlike the Ghostbusters venture, however, this is not a timed exclusive for PlayStation platforms. MCV reports that Sony will publish the PSP and PS3 versions of the game, while Codemasters handles publishing duties on all other platforms.
Codemasters' senior VP of publishing for EPAC, Axel Herr, is glad to have Sony take over, citing the series' "great affinity with the PlayStation brand in PAL territories for over 10 years" as one of the key factors behind the decision. We're sure all of the buzz around the PS3 Slim didn't hurt either.

whylekat - Do you just look for comments so that you can immediately disagree with me? I like you, you're not a troll and you don't spout b.s. But we're clearly not on the same page when it comes to what games are good, so why don't we just leave it at that. K?

Admit it whylekat, you've never played the first one have you. Making a comment like that is akin to saying "there weren't enough cut scenes in MGS4". Welcome to my retard list.

Codemasters has been going through a difficult transition, publishing is very expensive nowadays. I hope they stick around.

I'm curious as to how much they make from publishing a game....

The thing about publishing is they're now in charge of marketing and advertising and getting the game out there and really deciding what happens with the game after it's pressed. So for Codemasters, I think Sony taking this by the horns is a good thing. Hopefully Sony sees the potential in this franchise and gives it the push it deserves.

I am actually looking to play this game on PC. Its probably the first game to incorporate & use Dx11 & I really want to see how that looks.

Probably not much better than DX10. It takes a while to fully use the features of the new DX.
Anyway, it could be the most advance PC game on the market for a while.

I have to agree with some that the first one was boring. I only played the demo, though, and I have the DIRT 2 demo, as well. Got it off the EU PSN store last week. Prettty much the same, to me, but the graphics are pretty good. I just wish they would have had the crowds along the road react to cars going out of control, HEADED TOWARD THEM!! LOL. They just stand there clapping and cheering. They needs some of that Euphoria Engine GTA IV style going on in that game. It would make it more interesting.

They had reactions from crowds in GRID. When you bumped the car in the wall they screamed.
No movement reactions though. Don't know why they didn't keep the screaming in DIRT 2.

Em Europhia engine? Sorry man maybe I'm wrong but I don't think that wil solve the problem you have with the game. It would have to be programmed into crowd A.I instead.

Because crowd animation makes or breaks a racing game?!

I can understand Sony doing Ghostbusters, but there doesn't seem to be a reason for them to take this. Don't thy have Motorstorm?

You would think they would bundle a first party title that showcased the system. Perhaps they just wanted to publish it to ensure it actually came out globally. As a PAL region consumer I'm sure glad it is.
