Still sounds like a good old-fashioned cockslap from MS.

Be sure to have some moisturizer on hand for the soreness.

I uploaded mine a while back and it worked ok, but it's hit and miss as to whether it displays when the page loads. Sometimes I get Gillian Seed, other times it's Mario. It's inconsistent.

Sorry about your ass-reaming, though. Maybe sit on a pillow for a couple of days, hopefully it will help.

Certain western digital 5400rpm 2.5" hdd's are able to be read by the 360. You can only use them in 20, 60 and 120gb varieties since you have to format it in a way that the 360 reads it.

Search it on Google.

The downside is that you'll still need a hdd transfer cable to get all your crap back.

@Chris

On the original XBox hard drive swaps were one of the common ways they identified and banned hackers. AFAIK, they have yet to actually ban anyone on the 360 for using their own hard drive, but I'm sure they could certainly change their mind at any time. It's something to keep mind though.

But the Pro just got marked down to £155 for clearance - it's cheaper than the Arcade.

Also, the Elite has also been reduced to £200 - only £40 cheaper than the Arcade.

So the 360 is still dirt cheap here in the UK. For comparison purposes, the PS3 is £250 and the Wii is £180.

So you can get an Elite for £50 cheaper than the PS3, or an Arcade for £20 cheaper than the Wii.

Yeah, I was going to point this out. Arcade may be more expensive, but the Elite is great value now.

If you're looking to buy a 360, I don't see why you'd go for an Arcade anyway, but raising the price is a bit of a mystery since it's main draw point was appealing to casual gamers who wanted a cheap system.

And I don't exactly buy their excuse. Are we going to see price cuts on all 360 models when the pound bounces back?

even though i think this sucks, microsoft sort of has a point here. for months you have been able to get a xbox 360 arcade for 10 pounds less than an nintendo DS. that bat-shit crazy.

Wow even as a diehard 360 fanboy I am shocked by this move on MS part. I think it's stupid, idiotic and most importantly a slap in the face to consumers over there.

Just speechless. I hope they reconsider.

Still though the Elite at $299 is definitely a great buy for anyone who's interested in games. The only thing the ps3 has over the 360 is the built in WiFi and the built in powerbrick. The 360 still has better features, better online, and most importantly better games (at least in my opinion).

And I know Aggie is going to pop up in here and mention "Bluray" along with all the other sony cronies.

First and foremost not everyone wants or even needs Bluray. Some people just want to play games. And in all seriousness I think the majority of people couldn't care less about Bluray right now. So while it's a part of the ps3 that's highly valued to you guys it does NOT have that same value to others.

I myself have a Samsung Bluray player and a 360. To me that's a better situation. I have a device that's strictly for watching movies and 1 that's excellent for games.

Everything is subjective. I agree that at the end of the day what matters most is game selection, but like I said, everything is subjective.

The PS3 library is better suited to *my personal* tastes than the 360 library. The only 360 exclusives that I really, really, *really* want are the Mass Effect games and Splinter Cell: Conviction. The other big 360 exclusives - Gears, Halo, L4D, Alan Wake, Forza etc. - don't appeal to me quite so much, whereas there's a whole bunch of PS3 games I love (MGS4, LBP, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted).

My advice to people has always been: get the 360, because it's cheaper, unless there's some PS3 exclusives you really want or are really interested in blu-ray. However, given their now similar price, my advice has changed to simply: get the console with the games you want.

Though I'm not sure when you purchased said items, let's assume it was in the last 2 years. So you spent $300 on a blu-ray player and $250 (roughly) on a 360. That's $550 (give or take) on your "better situation". You could have saved about $150 and bought the PS3 which does both. No switching inputs, no extra cables, an extra power socket...no fuss no muss. Not to mention that the PS3 is better for Blu-ray if only for the sheer fact that you can update the firmware wirelessly and with no problem. Me thinks you should have done a little bit more research buddy.

There was a fall, but what's more annoying is that they're doing this AFTER sterling has recovered about 20 cents per pound. It's ridiculous.

So does this mean stores get to come to YOUR house and ask for a price "match," demanding you pay the extra amount?

Not to get too political, but the Brits could get off their high horse and switch to the Euro, thus MS wouldn't raise the price and screw all of Europe...

I wonder if they plan to raise the price on the Elite after Christmas...

and I know Nintendo jacked the price up and people were still selling it at the old price, are they still doing that or have they adjusted their prices finally?

Don't forget that the Nintendo Wii price also increased in the UK, from £179 to £199.

So current prices are:

Xbox 360 Arcade = £159
Xbox 360 Pro = £199
Nintendo Wii = £199
PS3 Slim = £249
