Totally disagree. CO is way more action oriented, and there's not as much of a grind in it as there is in CoH. I played the beta with an Xbox 360 controller connected, and it's a lot of fun that way. It's not even close to semi-turn-based like CoH and WoW, and there's never a point when you're out of energy and can't do anything; Even when energy is low, you can still attack.

It's also better in that you get travel powers right away, you get capes right away, and the missions are less running around and more fighting.

And the character creation is awesome. People with decent imaginations (i.e., those who make original characters and not Batman/Flash/Superman/Spider-Man, etc.) will love the way their characters look. WAY more options, and the cell-shaded look works great for a comic book superhero game.

to quote Ayane118 "don't go by what people (fixed for you_ who didn't even play for 45 min say, try for yourself"

I don't remember saying how long I played. As a matter of fact I just said after playing the open beta. It was more than 45 min. I can assure you that. And I stand by what I said, after playing it, be glad it isn't on 360 (yet)

Now, assuming that Microsoft pulls their heads out of their asses and starts putting MMOs out, then maybe it will get better. As it stands though, CoH is better.

You do know that COH ain't on a console right? That's why CO is better imo.. its for both PC and 360(when MS moves there ass). That's one of the reasons I want this so bad..My comp suck and I'm not pulling 600-1000$ out my ass a year to upgrade my PC every times a game comes out.

CoH is better?

Are you high? Or do you just like the grind of CoH, and the fact that they withhold travel powers until you're higher level?

I played CoH since launch, and I like CO a LOT better, in every single regard.

Try playing CO with an Xbox 360 control (it supports it on the PC natively), and you'll see it's a totally different game mechanic; More action oriented. It plays more like Marvel Ultimate Alliance than CoH.

perhaps sonys willingness to embrace MMOs on their console will push microsoft to change their policys towards MMOs? that or they lose the MMO customer base to PS3 and PC.

The logic that microsoft want their own "crappy MMO" is a falacious one. They had that with the Marvel MMO that they killed (made by Cryptic and was later transfered in to the backbone of Champions.) The facts are more likely that they are trying to build in additional monetization to make them selves more money. I mean it's not like it's impossible, the core of the Xbox is a modified Direct X version so porting over almost any game is not hard if it runs on PC. The control scheme of Champions is designed around an XBox controller and other games have their own dedicated servers (Left4Dead and Battlefield 1943.) It comes down to greed, what I don't understand is why developers continue to bother. They develop for this platform buying development rights to do so and then are locked out of the platform due to restrictions in the Live environment. Yes it's Microsoft's ball park but very shortly a slew of games including DC Online on the PS3 so MS will start falling behind the curve technologicaly and game wise. They have the lead now but they are starting to fritter it away.

So I'm paying 50 bucks a year to make sure multiplayer online games are stopped from being released?

Maybe there is a pay to play fee. FF XI didn't exactly pan out very well. Many 360 gamers including myself fell... that well I already pay for live gold I will not pay for an MMO.

I will never pay for an MMO on 360 until the service becomes free. Right now I already pay for Multi-player gaming.

That also maybe part of the hold up.

I don't have a problem paying MS there $4 and change a month for my Gold membership and a monthly fee for an MMO as well. What I am dissapointed about is that my lifetime subscription won't work for the 360 version of Champions (if it ever releases) since they will be different servers. I was really looking forward to playing with PC friends while I was on my 360.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a 360 version of this game. Considering that Cryptic is hiring for PS3 developers at the moment, I suspect that STO will be on the PS3 and that Champions will eventually make its way there as well.
