We're not entirely sure how big the explorable galaxy will be, but we're sure platforming freaks are excited of the prospect of a universe's worth of fetch quests. With battles scattered throughout space, we're hopeful that Insomniac has the insight to make the universe a tad more exciting than the oceans of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.
Exploring space exploration in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
11
It's time for the dynamic duo to go into space! No, we're not talking about Batman and Robin. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time will expand the space exploration elements of Tools of Destruction by replacing the on-rails shooter sequences with an open universe to traverse through. Players will be able to stop on various moons and small planets and partake in spherical platforming sequences inspired by Super Mario Galaxy er, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando.

That looks cool but it looks like there's no Z axis. You can only go side to side and not up and down. A little disappointing but still cool.

Glad to see that Andrew eventually remembered that Super Mario Galaxy WAS NOT the first game to spherical levels. For all the awe towards Galaxy, Insomniac had done that in the Ratchet and Clank games years earlier. And those levels were great.

The radio is a nice touch, but we'll probably hear the same broadcasts at times. It would be cool if you could use custom soundtracks in-game and listen to your music on the radio while cruising in space.
Probably have like a "Custom Radio" station.

I'm worried that the vast emptiness of space is going to feel small and crowded. I'm also worried that it will be tedious during the inevitable backtracking as you work toward 100%. Still, I love me some R&C and have faith in Insomniac.

I just hope they don't change up the game play too much, Ive grown to love just blowing everything up with the guns and buying stuff at the local Gadgetron vendor.
