Halo 3: ODST on sale early in France, MS responds

According to CVG, a handful of lucky gamers in France got their hands on a copy of Halo 3: ODST nearly a month in advance of it's September release date. It seems that some copies of the game were delivered early, and Microsoft states it is "investigating a very small breach in [its] distribution process." Furthermore, the company is looking at Live accounts with Halo 3: ODST activity and is planning to "take action against those we believe have procured copies of the game illegitimately."

Thankfully, those that were lucky enough to legally buy a copy of the game are in no danger. A Twitter update from Xbox Live's Stephen Toulouse notes that Microsoft "will not be banning legitimate customers from Xbox LIVE who play early."

Its been a sort of piracy and Microsoft should take a serious action of the distributor of that game as well as the buyers who bought that game by knwoing its illegal in all manner.........................

I think its a rumor spread by the Microsoft itself to advertise its game ina different manner and receive the sympathy of the gamers..............

Nope, there's gamertags out there with ODST on it and some have 1000/1000 points and Recon. It's a hell of a publicity stunt if MS are behind it.

Don't go importing the French version because all the voice acting will be in French with no option for English except subtitles. I know someone with the Spanish version of Halo 3 and the grunts and marines run around yelling in Spanish :D

If it's like Halo 3, the multiplayer announcer will be in your dashboard language (and the voice will change accordingly) but the campaign voice acting will be hardwired to the game's language e.g. French. If you don't speak French, just wait.
