I hate to go off-topic here, but Joystiq.... are you EVER going to do something about all the spambots that have been popping up lately? Seriously, I report 3 comments a post for spam alone on average now. I think you need to start bringing the ban-hammer down faster. (EDIT: We are doing so now. You can stop reporting this comment!)

Thank you for reporting people, MowDownJoe. I've just gone through the most reported 300 comments across all the Joystiq websites (Joystiq, Xbox, PS, and Nintendo) and deleted all that required it. I'm sorry that we haven't been on top of it and I personally take responsibility. I'll be back on top of it as of now. Thank you for the reminder!

(And for reading!!)

Why did I get downvoted? Because of a silly typo? Incase you dont know, I meant Metacritics. Metacritics says GTA 4 is better than Crackdown.

GTA III was the only good GTA IMO.
The main guy didn't shout stupid phrases when he shot someone... That makes the game better on its own.

GTA2 > All

Doesn't need to be 3D to be entertaining. I've spent more hours in that game then all the other combined :O

Agreed...I didn't even bother to rebuy GTA4 when I was transitioning from Xbox (RIP) to PS3...I hated most of the radio stations, the driving never grew on me, and it didn't really capture the over-the-top elements I loved about GTA III thru San Andreas.

All I know is that I hope that this comes to the PS3. I think Rockstar is not too happy that they made signed that contract with MS based on how poorly the first DLC did on the 360. Matter of fact, even with the analyst speculation of the poor sales, the Rockstar rep said they will NEVER release the sales numbers and even had a bit of an attitude when he said it.
C'mon, Rockstar, just break the contract. Lol. I needs this DLC on me PS3, matey...

What are you talking about, TLAD sold very well on the Xbox 360.

It even set a record, generating the most revenue in 24-hours, more than any DLC. And it beat sales of Killzone 2 on the PS3.

Damian - There were articles about the speculation by analysts that didn't believe the DLC did well on the PS3. Google it. And there was also the vid of the Rockstar rep, I believe from E3. Google that, too. I don't make ish up. No reason to.

Trey, estimates that I've seen show that the DLC had broken records and sold over 1 million copies, with sales projections that it would reach 2 by "years end".

Joystiq even reported the sales records of TLAD. No Googling required:
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/06/pachter-new-gta-in-2010-lost-and-damned-could-sell-2m-this-yea?icid=sphere_blogsmith_inpage_joystiq

"There were articles about the speculation by analysts that didn't believe the DLC did well on the PS3". If that's your concern, I agree with you. The DLC didn't appear on PS3, so it probably didn't sell too well on the platform.

Whoooaa, my bad if that is true. Initially, that was not the speculation by analysts plus there was an actual vid of the Rockstar rep stating that they will never release the sales numbers.

As for KZ2 sales - What does that have to do with anything? U trying to light a match?

Well, it's not all about dollars, contrary to belief. It's about moving units, as well. Yes, they receive a huge contract but if they are not moving projected units, then it's not successful.

no, it really is all about dollars. Contrary to what you said, if through some work of magic a game made a huge profit but only moved a few hundred copies no one would call it a disappointment.

Wayne, Trey is right on this. It's not about the money, it's about the selling itself. If you don't at least meet or BEAT projected earnings, you have failed. If your company is projected to lose 50 million dollars but you only lost 20 million, your stock will go up, and this is how XBOX division continued to endure over a decade even though it has always been run at a loss until fairly recently. The first Xbox never profited... Not even ONCE, and yet it was considered a successful program because they EXPECTED to run at a loss with the original console, and actually loss less than they expected to because of the success of the original Xbox Live and some exclusive hits the original console had (halo, mechassault, riddick, crimson skies, ninja gaiden, dead or alive, etc.)

Now if you projected to EARN 50 million in profits, and you only earn 20, your stock will go down! This is why Windows Vista was a flop. It was expected to be installed on every PC and business server running XP. It still turned a profit, but XP is still installed on more computers, so Vista = fail.

Who, peep the size of this boat - big enough to have its own tender boat on the back.

Let's hope it's useable and or as a safehouse - that would be sweet.

U touched a bit of where I was going without saying - Rockstar coulda used those PS3 sales, as well. Like I posted a moment ago, it's not all about dollars, in the business world. It's about units moved and if the projected amount don't move, it can be considered unsuccessful.
At the end of the day, I just want this on the PS3, tis all, for me. I LOVE GTAIV. That game was a masterpiece, imo, but I do want Rockstar to step it up, gameplay wise, for the next official GTA. I've been suggesting since before GTA IV that giving us the option to play as two separate characters - Protagonist and antagonist - and the missions should have consequences that can either keep your character as either type OR if you cross over enough, you can have a different outcome at the end of that character's storyline. Basically, good guy can become a bad guy and vice versa or you can stay the course.

The only thing I think that could possibly hold that back, unfortunately, is the fact that the 360 uses CDs and not all SKUs come with an HDD. Using some storage space and having a lot more disc space could help facilitate accomplishing this. Funny thing is how Heavy Rain is doing this same thing but Heavy Rain hadn't even been announced and guess what? It's a PS3 exclusive and most likely because of that space issue.
