WiredKnight @ Aug 29th 2009 3:43PM
You can thank Hef for liking them young, dumb, and fake.
Munky @ Aug 29th 2009 8:33PM
I like em that way, too.
Ridgecity @ Aug 29th 2009 10:40PM
@WiredKnight:
I was expecting a more tense response from a wired knight.
WiredKnight @ Aug 30th 2009 12:19AM
@ridgecity
Wrong "wired."
ChromeAlchemist @ Aug 29th 2009 3:05PM
Two bunnies per set or no deal.
Young_Nastyman (a.k.a. Thor von Clemson) @ Aug 29th 2009 4:38PM
I'm with this guy
Obie @ Aug 29th 2009 4:45PM
Free with pre-order: A wig, cheap perfume and two bags of silicone.
( It's about the same thing as the average playmate anyways...;)
WINterfang @ Aug 29th 2009 11:30PM
Obie sounds like a fat chick.
Markez @ Aug 29th 2009 3:05PM
Now that's something I can get behind...
HIYO!!!
...sorry.

Sly [Planeteer | Power of Teets & Crumpets] @ Aug 29th 2009 3:06PM
i saw this on TV yesterday and i thought hugh's part was hilarious. the metallica ones are still better though.
Anti-Villian @ Aug 29th 2009 3:09PM
this is the cancer killing the game industry.
Sly [Planeteer | Power of Teets & Crumpets] @ Aug 29th 2009 3:12PM
actually, no. the cancer killing the game industry is the tons and tons of wii shovelware.
Markez @ Aug 29th 2009 3:12PM
You're the only real hardcore gamer left, dude, you're awesome.
vidGuy @ Aug 29th 2009 3:40PM
That's why they made this commercial. It's for *cough* preventing cancer.
Markez @ Aug 29th 2009 3:53PM
I think the cancer killing the game industry are all the people that actually think there is any sort of cancer killing the game industry.
pete @ Aug 29th 2009 6:16PM
i think the cancer that is killing the gaming industry is the massive increase of fanboys on the internet who demand games to be a certain way
Chris Are @ Aug 29th 2009 7:02PM
Well I'll go ahead and agree with ya there. Though I think the naked chicks and fat dude were a lot more... cancer-y. But this definitely doesn't entice me to purchase the game. Then again, neither did the Van Halen addition. Just be real w/ me Activision!
PS Did anyone else get a 10$ gift card for picking up Arkham Asylum at BB?
Sly [Planeteer | Power of Teets & Crumpets] @ Aug 29th 2009 9:26PM
chris, yeah you should have gotten a gift card and 2 batman movies when you bought it. the deal was even reported here on joystiq.
Anti-Villian @ Aug 30th 2009 12:05AM
how is this in any way not shovelware? sure its pretty high quality shovelware but still shovelware. I don't want games a certain way, im just sad that their is nothing.
Longhorn Slim @ Aug 29th 2009 3:11PM
WTF, still the same commercial style, i guess since the games dont really change much
Sly [Planeteer | Power of Teets & Crumpets] @ Aug 29th 2009 3:13PM
i like the commercials. and they have mixed it up. watch the GH:metallica commercials. they change it up in a great way.
Longhorn Slim @ Aug 29th 2009 3:17PM
I never liked the commercial especially when they put the rapist, and the pot head
Lukeyo @ Aug 29th 2009 3:20PM
I agree with Longhorn. They've used the same ad campaign for the past three games, and since they haven't changed the past three games I guess that's understandable.
Sly [Planeteer | Power of Teets & Crumpets] @ Aug 29th 2009 3:42PM
kobe didn't rape her. he DID cheat on his wife, but he didn't rape the chick.
Hafkie @ Aug 29th 2009 3:45PM
Smash hits didn't have the commercial, and Metallica and World Tour are actually quite different, Just ask your average vocalist. You can actually get 100%s in Metallica and Smash Hits.
Lukeyo @ Aug 29th 2009 5:30PM
I had completely forgotten about Smash Hits, but now that you mention it - isn't it just a collection of songs on an engine that ... had both been used before?
Sly [Planeteer | Power of Teets & Crumpets] @ Aug 29th 2009 5:59PM
what's with the down ranking? it's the truth.
Alvin_Rod @ Aug 29th 2009 3:12PM
Even though it's kind of weird, I still prefer The Beatles: Rock Band ad
Young_Nastyman @ Aug 29th 2009 4:58PM
creepy John Lennon got to your soul didn't he?
Tehman @ Aug 29th 2009 6:59PM
Smiling sure is creepy isn't it?
Hafkie @ Aug 29th 2009 3:12PM
I hated the ads to begin with. The Metallica ads were all right, but you know, when they blew up the house, I thought they would do it FOR GOOD.
Then again, I guess this is at a playboy mansion, but still. Come up with something else already.
WiredKnight @ Aug 29th 2009 3:42PM
Not really, it's the same set with a different backdrop.
Snake Robot Podium @ Aug 31st 2009 8:40AM
Yeah it was kind of worth the first few to see Metallica's take on it.
Also, Is that song in ANY Guitar Hero game?
Another bad thing about--- OH LOOK HOT LADIES!!!
James @ Aug 29th 2009 3:14PM
They are going to need all the help they can get to push out this next piece of shit. The just need to do what rock band is doing and release a bunch of songs for DLC. I don't care if I was promised a lap dance by a bunny, I wouldn't buy another guitar hero with some songs that are fun and most that blow. Ha ha, sorry but you have to admit Activision loves to kill every series they own. Give it more than a year between releases and do some DLC. Ok, I'm done.
Hafkie @ Aug 29th 2009 3:25PM
From everyone who has played the game so far, all I have heard is that this is the best Neversoft Era GH game yet.
But you haven't even played the game, so why does your opinion matter?
WiredKnight @ Aug 29th 2009 3:45PM
That's still like saying it's the best punch in the face ever.
GH will never be as god as it was when Harmonix was part of the team.
WiredKnight @ Aug 29th 2009 3:46PM
*good
Hafkie @ Aug 29th 2009 4:33PM
I still don't get it. If you quit nitpicking the games and just play them, you'll actually have fun.
I don't got around screaming about every Rock Band post because the Laid To Rest drum chart doesn't have double bass.
WiredKnight @ Aug 29th 2009 5:00PM
Complaining about one song is nit-picking.
Complaining about GH's awful interface that hasn't been changed that much since GH2, "rock stars" who move like robots, an inferior selection of DLC, and the gimmicky touchpad that is impossible to use and has been shoehorned into songs where you wouldn't normally "need" it, is not.
Hafkie @ Aug 29th 2009 5:24PM
You're right on the DLC, but....
GH3's interface was okay.
GHWT's was shit
GHM/SH's interface was okay
But GH5? Have you even fucking seen it? It's really good.
Same with the characters, the GH5's characters don't look like robots. You know why? Neversoft finally learned how to abuse the camera like Harmonix is doing. Rock Band's character's aren't perfectly fluid, but the camera work makes up for it. You can't notice because the camera hides imperfections.
Also, the touch pad parts are completely optional. You can strum them and play them like normal if you want. You don't need the touch pad.
WiredKnight @ Aug 30th 2009 12:23AM
Now if they could just learn to properly animate a group of people onstage, they'd be set.
Touchpad or not, I still hate playing some stupid made-up solo at the end of songs where they don't belong.
Rhamsey @ Aug 29th 2009 3:17PM
what a lucky guitar.
shot @ Aug 29th 2009 3:21PM
Activision is desperate
No Kill Tayler @ Aug 29th 2009 3:46PM
For what, your money?
Pfffft.
Ghen @ Aug 30th 2009 6:48AM
They aren't desperate, they just don't care because they know it still sells. Completely different.
dark_inchworm (stronger than never, ever before) @ Aug 29th 2009 3:25PM
I thought blowing up the house signified the end of this lame ad campaign. Guess not.
