Played a demo of this at GameStop last night. It's gonna be huge.

That's actually John Lennon in the clip. They digitally gave him facial hair to match his appearance on the cover of the Abbey Road album.
The original footage is (probably) from the Let it Be film which was shot earlier in 1969, and for which John was clean-shaven.

Am I the only person in the universe who isn't interested in this game?
Before you vote me down and start flaming me hear me out.
So simply put, this game isn't for me. I like Rock Band, but I don't prefer it. I appreciate what the Beatles did for music production, but I don't particularly like any of their music.
And I'm sure others would be with me when I say I'd rather not have a game in the house that causes my parents to constantly bogart the console, just like Tetris did in my house back in the early 90s.
OK.
Now you're free to flame away and hate on me because my opinion is different.

Actually, we're free to flame away because you didn't give any real reason you don't like the Beatles or Rockband.
That's the same as:
Wow, All Rockband games are gay compared to Guitar Hero- Beatles don't deserve to have their own game.
Here's how it should be:
I don't like Rockband because... or I prefer Guitar Hero because....
Everyone will bash on you if you don't cite specific, valid reasons.

Are you asking a question, or just bitching?
To answer your question, yes. It must be lonely for you.
Regarding the bitching about your parents: they have good taste in music and this is the one time I would advise listening to them. Why would you turn away a game that would actually bring the family together by playing it?

My dad does that with Rock Band 2 already. He knows and likes so much of the music on there, plus the stuff I download he usually likes, it's hard to play bass because he's always hogging it.

If you open up your gob and spew your personal opinion on the internet, be prepared to get flamed and lambasted, there are no if(s), and(s), or but(s). That's the way it has always worked and that's how it should be. Don't like it? Then STFU.

I don't think I was asking a question, especially since a "?" was never used.
I grew up with the Beatles because my parents like them. That doesn't mean I have to like them. I grew up with other stuff that my parents like that I do like.
Its just personal preference.

Wait, you were living with your parents in the early 90's and your parents bogart'ed the console to play tetris, and we are now 15-20 years later and you are still worried about your parents taking your console time up with beatles rock band? maybe it's time to move out from home.

It's blasphemy to speak ill of the Beatles. You will buy this game.

You probably can't read your own comment anymore, because it's been downvoted so quickly... You asked a question.
And who cares about your personal opinion, anyway? If I were your parents, I'd slap you for telling me that you didn't like The Beatles.
So, feel lucky that you have parents that don't slap you.

Ya got me. I forgot about the first sentence.
I don't have to worry about my consoles anymore because I moved out of my parents' house like 5 years ago. But it is an annoying situation other people may have to deal with.
OK here's a question:
Anyone ever think the reason there's so many douchebags and spoiled bitches is that their parents don't slap them enough?

I'm sorry, it just sounds like you're making an excuse now. You clearly said you don't want your parents hogging your console in your OP and then you go and say this? This is, simply put, a battle you cannot win. Sorry

Sure, if he didn't like the same music, then the most we could really do is say "YOU suck." and downvote him - as that is our way of expressing our opinion.
Our reason for attacking him are the lame excuses he's giving for hating the game's entire being.

They're not look-alikes. This ad is too classy for that. It must be taken from some making-of video. They clearly look like composites at times, like Ringo at 20 seconds.
Paul, however, is a look-alike and has been for decades, as we all know.

omg this game will be fun, with some varying difficulty that will challenge even the most experienced Rock Band players. I think this game will do great and totally outsell Guitar Hero 5 and omg i can't say that seriously.....

You don't need a super incredibly hard challenge to have fun, kid.

I'm amused by the part where the kid hands George Harrison a guitar, and he stares at it with an odd, quizzical gleam in his eye, almost like a caveman discovering fire for the first time.
Good idea for an ad, not so much on the execution. Of course, this being a video game advertisement, you'll probably see it on TV no more than twice before it disappears completely.

@ bongoes It was just the guitar, no drums or mic at gamestop. only like 6 songs to choose from and for some reason in the demo fail mode was auto on, but still fun as hell.

Let me just preface this by saying that I'm a huge Beatles fan. I also enjoy playing Rock Band. But I'm getting a little tired of the overwhelming ad blitz for this game. I turned on vh1 yesterday, and they were actually playing the rockband music video as the music video for sgt peppers. And between every show/commercial, they splice in some random 5-minutes of fame pop star talking about how important the beatles were. I think the game's a great idea. The ads at this point just seem to be cheapening their legacy.

Well, we can't have it both ways. In the ~3 years I've been on Joystiq, people have been complaining that no game companies ever effectively advertise their games. Now we have one that is doing just that, and it's too much? I'm happy that they're actually getting the word out there, because I would be sad if this game did poorly because the Beatles deserve better.
It's a fact that advertising increases sales. Somehow the video game industry became the largest entertainment industry in the US without much advertising, but think how much bigger it could get. More mainstream acceptance means fewer people trying to make video games out to be the devil. Therefore, I'm definitely not sick of the media blitz at all.

The ad blitz is mostly based around the Beatles re-releasing their entire catalog. Beatles: Rock Band is just a part of it.
