Last week, Canadians were privy to a fantastic deal, netting them Batman's latest adventure for $40. This week, American gamers are being treated to a buy-one-get-one-half-off promotion at Best Buy on a laundry list of Xbox 360 software. The deal is pretty simple: Purchase one qualifying Xbox 360 title and get a second game (of equal or lesser value) for 50% off. To sweeten the deal Best Buy is even throwing in free shipping for your purchase.
Strangely, the fine print mentions gamers can only select items that are currently in stock, but list Modern Warfare 2 as one of the qualifying titles. Keep in mind that this offer can end at any time, so if you're looking to stock up for the winter season now is as good a time as any.
[Thanks, vidGuy!]

hmm looks like either some of these orders may get cancelled, or you'll be waiting a pretty long time for your orders i noticed games like Splinter Cell Conviction and even Final Fantasy XIII are even on the list alot of games that were pushed back or tha dont come out til next year are on the list. I Wish i knew what gamestop had planned as far as preorders go so i could decide where i want to order some of those other games to bad my Prestige Edition and ODST are already paid for.

I don't get it, do you expect them to have a picture showing everything in Microsoft's catalog?

They key here is that this deal works on preorders, which is usually not true for these type of deals.
Great way to pick up some of that slew of holiday titles coming out.

so it does work for preorders? The only other problem is that it's 1 half off per order, but i guess i can just make a dozen separate orders

Well, it DOES work on preorders. Whether or not it's SUPPOSED to work on preorders is another story, but I was able to put in a couple orders (MW2/ODST, and another for MUA2/NHL010) and it took it no problem.
And yes, for a bunch of games you'll have to put in separate orders, just try to pick pairs that come out near each other.

It works for pre-orders, for anyone having trouble with those. A lot of people at cheapassgamer have been taking advantage of this and ordering games like MW2, Beatles Rock Band, and others. Some of the strange games that are absent from this deal include Borderlands and Left 4 Dead 2, which is a bit of a shame, as those are some big name titles coming out that a lot of people would be eager to pre-order for a cheap price. I hope all you 360 owners take advantage of this deal if you're planning on picking up some coming-soon titles at full retail price anyway. I wish they had something like this for PS3, as I could get some Christmas shopping done early :)

Borderlands is included, sort by 50 to a page, page 4 about halfway down.

Hey, can you order two of the same game? That way, you could split the cost with a friend and get COD: MW2 for $45.

You're retarded. Just like anyother PS3 fanboy that thinks that the Xbox 360 only has those exclusives.

I think I'll hold off on this deal. All the games I really want aren't out yet and I prefer to wait for the reviews unless it's guaranteed good (reserved MW2 months ago). If you keep an eye on CAG's deal forums November-December you can usually find deals at least this good.

I love this. The fall/winter gaming season is nearly/practically here. Is anyone as psyched as I am? And now, I say something that I think we all can definitely agree on: I love games.

I'd LOVE to pre-order Bioshock 2 and capitalize on this great offer, maybe get Batman also (man, its so WEIRD saying I actually want a BATMAN game, they suck so bad... except B:AA obviously.) But I'm afraid to pre-order anything that comes out in a year, maybe it gets another delay and I'm screwed or something else stupid happens and my pre-order doesnt happen or something...
What do you guys think? Anyone else thinking of going beyond holiday 09? I dont really want anything this holiday (THANKS MW2 FOR SCARING EVERYONE ELSE AWAY INTO '10. AS FUN AS YOU PROBABLY ARE, YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE)

Decided to pull the trigger on a 2nd order - Dead Space and Dead Rising - heard great things about both games, never played either. Those are the only other 2 games I was interested in at all!

Got Dirt 2 and Forza 3, $95 for both includes sales tax but free shipping! Might go for two more....

I'm guessing this is where you can't choose which one you want half off... because I would love to buy a cheap game I passed up only to get MW2 half off. I guess I will just wait for prices to drop on some of the summer games.

Warning, the deal advertises both titles are free shipping but when I added Borderlands and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 to the cart, there was no free shipping on Borderlands. Almost every game in their catalog is free shipping. Called Best Buy and the sales rep said that there was no glitch and that I could not get free shipping on Borderlands. Way to honor your ad Best Buy...

The Beatles Rock Band isn't listed anymore and it's not working when added to cart :-/
