Once again, Xbox Live Arcade will be visited by a ghostly vision of Sonic the Hedgehog's good (see: not terrible) old days -- Shacknews is reporting that the Sega Vintage Collection 2 series will draw to a close on September 9 with the release of Sonic & Kunckles. As hinted at when this Sega collection was first announced, owners of the previous Sonic XBLA titles will have access to bonuses in the latest installment -- including the "Blue Sphere" mode (Sonic 1), as well as the ability to play as Knuckles in Sonic 2 and 3.
We've contacted Sega to confirm the release date and get pricing details -- and also to discover whether the Wii version of the game (revealed by an ESRB listing) will be made available simultaneously.

It was more than that for sonic 3 though. Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles were originally supposed to be one game, but they decided to split it up into two.
When you plug in 3 you get more than the ability to play as knuckles in sonic 3, which is what happens in sonic 2. The title changes to "Sonic 3 and Knuckles" The campaigns blend together and you can start from the beginning in sonic 3 with any character (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Sonic and Tails) and play till the end of sonic and knuckles, you have to get all the chaos emeralds twice to be hyper sonic/knuckes/tails.

Reply fail. That was supposed to go to the thread below, with the annoying asshole who thinks we don't know what Halo is, and also believes that A comment has to be an essay.

Good thing that your first game wasn't shitty then, you were lucky. :)
You know, for the longest time, I could never beat the boss in the 3rd world. I think I'll have to pick this up to get over my fears.
Same with Sonic 3, I always seem to get stuck in the 5th world. This was back before the internet of course.

How is that the boss you couldn't beat? He just stands there until you hit him. Or jumps over you.

Mine was Sonic CD.
The boss music used to give me nightmares. I had to have my sister beat them for me. :(

My first game was duck hunt. Very easy for little kids like I was. My parents were gamers back in the day so they had all the NES stuff.

Here here Markez, with the power pad of course. I cheated and used my hands. It was useless otherwise. I got the nes with the pad for Xmas in 1987. Atari2600 on a b&w tv before that. God I'm old. 32 is old.

My first game was the SMB/Duck Hunt game. I am apparently too old to remember the SMB/Duck Hunt/Track and Field game. I feel cheated...

Luckily I still have the game for my genesis.
It's so much fun especially with 2 players. Would love to see that on XBLA ASAP.

Would definitely love an XBLA remake with online co-op. And, if I'm being greedy, remade graphics...
