I am going to disagree with the TMNT: Turtles in Time remake. I purchased it, all ready to kick up the nastalgia, and no. They butchered it. They bosses were mostly different, the levels were mostly different, the music was different. Why change it up? I miss the SNES game now. :(

I remember stacking the Genesis cartridges together when I was little and making Sonic & Knuckles 3. I thought that was the coolest shit ever.

I once stacked a game genie, sonic & knuckles and sonic 3 into my Nomad. It was just to see the rediculous, kinda unplayable.

@Dr Scientist

Now try stacking a Nomad, a 32X, a Game Genie, S&K, and Sonic 2/3 on top. It's very heavy.

Hey guys, did you know the new Sonic games are terrible?

I didn't! I sure am glad to have Joystiq telling me this in every post they make relating to the series and some not!

By the way, the new Sonic games are terrible.

Here's to hoping that Sega will remove the "slow" parts of the last Sonic game (I don't even remember the name!) and sell that for $60. People might actually buy it then.

They are? I hadn't heard, and the electro-shock therapy removed any and all experience pertaining to them.

Are they going to butcher the save system in this one too? They completely removed the menu's from Sonic 3, so although you can use save states, it prevents you from accessing the level select..

Not a HUGE deal for Sonic 3, but for Sonic 3 & Knuckles, we really need the level select back, and I won't be going near it if they haven't fixed that.

Oh fuck, I forgot about that.

I was extremely disappointed that Sega decided to leave out one of the most important features of the game. If they leave it out of S3&K, no buy for me.

Without level select, isn't it impossible to get all the Super Emeralds?

If you can't use the level select, just download it with an emulator (Kega Fusion for example), and viola! Problem solved. At least that version has a level selector. Or one of the non-crappy sonic collections (any but the ones released for Windows 98).

i used to love sonic when i was a kid(to the extent where i had pyjamas and stuff etc) but for some reason i never actually got this game, i love the fact that after all these years theres a way for me to get the game on the current platforms to finally play it.

Good thing this is on the Wii/Nintendo page. I would've missed out on the content for the console I don't own or have any interest in.

Even though Sonic and Knuckles is probably my least favorite of the Genesis Sonic games, it's still totally worth playing just for Flying Battery and Sky Sanctuary.

Oh, look, Backbone managed to figure out how to get the lock-on feature working. How fucking nice for them. I'm sure they worked really, really hard to figure out something that the emulation community has known for years.

Anyone who buys both Ultimate Genesis Collection and this is part of the problem.

Why would anyone buy both the Genesis Collection and this? If someone did that, they have more issues than just what you are talking about.

Don't really care if it comes to Wii, since you can get it for Mega Collection, and all the other Sonic Genesis games, for pretty much the same price now as they'll charge you for XBLA or VC, and Mega Collection featured the Blue Sphere, Knuckles in Sonic 2, and S3K as unlockables.

Nice that it supports lock on.

I still have my Genesis though, don't really need this. I wish sega would make a true Sonic 3 and Knuckles sequel. Something like Sonic Unleashed without the werehog or the pointless new "friends"

You know I consider Sonic and Knuckles to be the first title to have DLC. Playing Sonic 3 back in the day you would see areas where you felt the game obviously wanted you to take an alternate path but sonic just couldn't get to. Then along comes Sonic and Knuckles to make your copy of Sonic 3 that much more awesome.
