It's awfully hard to type when you've been chortling for four hours straight -- still, this video is too beautiful and perfect for us not to share with you. Here's the rundown: A reporter at an Argentinian news station was working on exposing the teen drinking epidemic when he stumbled across a popular beverage with startling ingredients. Said ingredients include kerosene, artificial sweeteners, rum, acetone, red dye no. 2 -- sound familiar yet? Played any Monkey Island games recently?
Yes, a major Argentinian news station recently shed some light on the disturbing trend of imbibing Grog -- in fact, the emoticon-unsavvy reporter actually calls it "Grog XD." The video of this hard-hitting news, spliced with footage from Secret of Monkey Island (and subtitles!) is posted after the jump. We attach a 100 percent guarantee to your viewing of the video -- it will light up your life.

Fail, he says "I'm Guybrush Threepwood, a mighty pirate," not "... I want to be a pirate."

Notice they use their highly-qualified doctor for Googling only.

A couple of Spanish blogs used my fan art of Castle Crashers, thinking they were official art (Sorry, Behemoth folks, if I did an injustice).
This is great, however.

Good thing you deduced that, Wayne. That's why you're a detective.

Has anyone ever checked out the ingredients of their favorite soda or energy drink? This isn't that far off. ;)

Ahhhh, tv journalist, if it wasn't for you and your rock hard research, I'd probably be killed by some gang on the highway, or I'd be without my kidneys on a tub with ice...
Thank you Old Media, my life is safe of pirates and voodoo ghosts thanks to you now.

I wonder what the so called doctor googled along with Scumm, because the first hits would clearly explain what it really is. Maybe the doc actually whipped up a batch before checking Google. I added alcohol and then rum to the search and it looks like some spyware sites are trying to use this news story to infect computers.
I guess TV news shows in the US aren't the only ones that completely forgot how to fact check stories before airing them. Hilarious, but unbelievable that they actually think teens are drinking that.

So will this news station just run with anything they get in their inbox? Because we could have some fun with this.

Well, the doctor DID say "I googled 'SCUMM DRINK' and it seems it is a delivery service".
And if you google that... you, indeed, get a drink delivery service, in Argentina.
But this is too much. I cannot get over the fact that not only they didn't research properly, but they didn't use COMMON SENSE.
But I cannot complain, it IS a good conversation starter with other gamers over here.

The reason why the doctor only came up with the drink delivery service when googling "scumm" is because when you google from an Argentine IP address, you're given results from Google Argentina. Try www.google.com.ar and you'll see.
