Dude, this is going to look extremely good. I'm stoked because that's when I'll be getting my PS3 Slim and I can get this pack as one of my first games. Perfect timing SCEA!

I wonder if this will have 2 platinums or will it work like PSN games?

Anyway, I had never finished those games before, and I played the first one entirely on my PS3 (oh the irony), but never quite started the second one, now its my chance :p

Logic would say that each game would have a Platinum Trophy assigned to it since both GoW titles are now official PS3 versions. But logic doesn't fare well with video game business decisions.

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet is how good this is for Sony going into the holiday season. The are going to be able to market the Slim alongside what is probably their strongest IP from the PS2 era. Sure, it's just a remastered version, but that's some powerful advertising.

Something tells me if this Collection sells well enough (which I'm sure it will) Sony may start making other Collections via disc (download seems iffy to me) for games like MGS or Ico/SotC.

By the way, I tried playing Ratchet: Deadlocked on my brother's 80 GB PS3 and it was pretty bad. Black shadows jump in and out over textures and the lag is atrocious during gameplay and in-game cutscenes. FFXII works perfectly though. I don't know if anyone else has any similar stories.

This is awsome! I never owned a PS2 so I missed out on these two brilliant games. Now I've got something to play this christmas besides Uncharted 2, Assassin's Ceed 2 and GT5 (I hope).

I'm a bit disappointed. The original posts pertaining to repackaging led us to believe that there'd be a pack-in of the original two with GoW3.

I own both of the originals so I won't be purchasing this new one.

Thats not really accurate and is a bit of revisionist history. The original survery asked about consumer interest in different items that could be packaged as a limited edition to God Of War 3. There is nothing to suggest there won't be some type of ultimate God Of War edition that includes this compilation as well.

Never liked achivements and never liked trophies...seems pointless, but I am psyched about this re-release. I will be using what little money I have left from my other gaming purchases to buy this...guess the dogs gonna have to get the store brand food that month.

This is really cool for those who have never played or do not own GOW1,2.

I try to be somewhat smart with my spending... so since I already have the first two games, this news is a bit frustrating (even though it sounds awesome that they're updating the graphics). I'd rather not buy the same games twice. I simply cannot contain my excitement for the third one though!

I'll be buying this. I never had a PS2 so I missed these games when they originally came out. I do have the first 80 GB PS3 so I could play the PS2 versions but for the same price why get the worse looking version when I can wait a bit for an updated version of the game?

The only PS2 game that I've beaten so far is Shadow of the Colossus. Dragon Quest VIII and FFXII have been gathering dust since I bought my PS3 and I've played a bit of my copies of Drakengard 2 and Burnout Revenge.

That would be sweet if they had a bundle of GOWIII with this. I thought that this is what they would have originally done when the GAP survey rumors surfaced.

http://www.pushsquare.com/1036/god-of-war-iii-collectors-edition-is-planned-fans-asked-to-describe-what-theyd-like-in-it/

It looks like instead they may just try and earn some cash by selling them separate from GOWIII

Now. Could Sony please give the same treatment to ICO and Shadow of the colossus before the Last Guardian release? Those two HD-enhanced and running at 720p......

SONY! Sony, listen. I have a software BC PS3. So far, the only PS2 games that have sucked on it have been the R&C games. If you put all four PS2 games (hell, Size Matters too, if you want) on a disc for $80 and make it work WITHOUT amazing levels of slowdown, even without trophies, I WILL buy it. I'd love to just get rid of my PS2.

...Y'know what? Screw it. Do this with ALL of your first party games. You will make money. You like that stuff, right, Sony?

Good shit, but I'd rather have the two come with some kind of GoW III Collector's Edition. I already own the two originals and I REALLY want to get this but...$40 for games I already own and have beaten countless times? I need something else or I'm gonna feel wicked guilty buying this.

So if I get a PS3, I cannot use my older copies I only got a few years ago.

Stop sucking, Sony. We all know PS3 can run BC games, and certainly the GoW games. No one wants to keep buying PS2 Slims. Pretending PS3 cannot run these games for sales of a decade old console is just annoying.

So, this is why Sony refused to put PS2 backward compatibility on the PS3, so they can remake/repackage PS2 games, and have fans buy them again.
