Mad Catz has announced that it will be bringing a special limited edition of its Street Fighter IV Tournament Edition Fightsticks to the Penny Arcade Expo. And when we say limited, we mean it: Only 1,000 sticks will be made available -- 650 for Xbox and 350 for PS3 -- and the majority of them will be available exclusively from the Capcom booth at PAX. For those unable to attend, a "very limited stock" will be available at the Capcom and GameShark online stores.
The "Femme Fatale" joystick, as you can see above, is decked out with the ladies of Street Fighter IV, including Sakura, Crimson Viper, Chun-Li, Cammy and Rose. It's also packs a lilac color scheme, which seems appropriate given the bumps and bruises players will be doling out with it (virtual bumps and bruises, of course). The sticks will go on sale this Friday, September 4, on a first-come-first-serve basis, limited to two per customer.
If you want one, you'd best be quick.

You're not alone.
I've played games on Dual Shocks for so long that I hate using anything else, including an arcade stick. SF Alpha 3 and C vs SNK 2 ruined me on using anything else.

Two retarded words: Mad Catz
That sweaty-looking guy with the tiny head can keep his garbage. I'd rather lose horribly at SFIV then being caught with these pieces of crap at any given time.

This video is actually quite funny. He manages to advertise the new mic for people with "necks of all different sizes and shapes" and people that like to snack while playing games.

MadCatz is a joke, they always have been... But the SFIV Tournament Edition sticks are the absolute best consumer ready (READ: Not custom made!) arcade sticks available. My only complaints are the position of the start/back buttons and the bevelled edge surrounding the SFIV graphic (would be nice if it was a continuing, flat surface). There's the babies that complain about square gate of the stock Sanwa stick, but those are easily fixed with an extremely simple internet/mail order part.
It is the furthest thing from a piece of crap, and I'd dare say it is the single most well-made peripheral on the market since the Tekki VT controller aside from those extremely expensive hobbiest flight sim and driving sim controllers.

Don't let the branding fool you. It may be true that MadCatz is historically a shitty off-brand accessory manufacturer, but the tournament edition sticks have high quality Sanwa arcade parts and are the best retail stick you can buy. The Fightpads are great, too; I have one that I use for old-school XBLA games and the like.

At first, just by looking at the image, I thought it was one of those custom modded sticks I've seen around at SRK, I remember seeing a similar design at least..

Mad-Catz Limited Edition? That's kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel, isn't it?

Agreed. Look at their street fighter limited edition fight pads, they come in blister pakcs for petes sakes. How can it be a collectors edition when you have to destroy the packaging to open it? The nubytech version was many times better.
The madcatz one didnt even include batteries

These iterations of their TE sticks are probably the best things Mad Catz has ever made, and the sad part is that they didn't even "make" them. The Joystick and all the buttons are made by Sanwa Denshi, who is the leading arcade parts manufacturer. They are also considered to be the best parts you can get in either your arcade stick or arcade cabinet.
I bought the original TE stick from Newegg for $130 and to be honest, it was worth it. If this version of the TE stick is around $150 I would definitely pick another one up, but anywhere over $170 is pushing it. After all, its only the TE stick with a different look.
But to all of you that don't have an arcade stick and is looking to obtain an outstanding arcade stick to improve your game, than I recommend the TE Stick. Its the best stock stick you can buy without having to modify anything.

No, thanks. My MadCatz fight pad died and had the dongle replaced, which died literally two or three days later. My MadCatz SE fight stick has input problems to the point that bottom-left occasionally doesn't work. I'm going to have to spend $60 on Sanwa parts and replace the absolute-bottom-end MadCatz products if I want the stick to work again properly.
There's a lot of hostility in some of the posts, but I can't exactly blame them. That's a lot of money down the drain for me; the fact is that their products DO break with alarming ease and frequency.

Cammy's butt equals a win in my book. I would make do with the lilac color just to see her butt on my fight stick.
