There just doesnt seem to be much buzz for guitar hero this year, activision really has killed the brand with all the spin offs. I sense a Tony Hawk like hiatus coming next year.

It kind of seems to fit into the Madden category of "why do I need to upgrade this?" and at least with Madden you get the most current roster upgrades to reflect the current season. But if I'm happy with the music game I currently have, that continues to be supported with new songs, why do I need to spend full game price on something new? Doubly so when I look at upcoming non-music games that are releasing this year. I'm having a hard enough time figuring out which one of those is getting my money.

Cuz it's Activision. Where Harmonix built a game around the Beatles and treated the band with respect, Activision/Neversoft seems to have thrown Cobain into the game as an afterthought to try and spark more sales. In my opinion he deserves better. Same goes for The Man in Black.

Think of it this way:

The Beatles: Rock Band celebrates the life and legacy of The Beatles.

Guitar Hero 5 is all about celebrating... Guitar Hero 5. Kurt Cobain is celebrated with one Nirvana song, and afterwards they just kinda throw him out unless you want to play as him for some other song.

A legend like Kurt Cobain should get a LITTLE more than just that, don't you think?

I'd let them polish my frets...if you know what I mean. And by that I mean, using a moderate amount fret-ease I would let them apply it to my frets in order to make playing the guitar better.

it's pretty meh, especially on the 360. PC version is loads better and the game has some great ideas that take CoD customization even further, with stuff like passive modules that let you alter shield strength and recharge, lock speed run speed repair speed. But honestly, even though the PC version is way better than the 360 it's still nothing special

Section 8 is shit... made by southpeak games (they haven't made anything decent, ever) the single player campaign is bot-matches(like Unreal tournament).
Yay.

These fucks only make shovelware, im surprised they're still in business.

Same here. Pre-ordered it on Amazon. They are also throwing in $5 for MP3s and $10 toward any future game purchase. I also had $50 reward for using the Amazon VISA. So in the end I got the GH5 Guitar Bundle + GH:VH + $5 MP3s + $10 credit + no tax + free release date delivery - all for $50. Can't beat that!
