Rapala: We Fish, and we use lazy Wii naming conventions

Rapala: We Fish, according to publisher Activision, is the first Wii-exclusive title in the Rapala fishing game series. It includes a rod and reel shell for the Wiimote, and features Mii support and four-player split-screen multiplayer. Oh, and fish with "zany personalities and hilarious facial expressions" that will make you feel terrible about hooking them and pulling them into your boat.
After you've caught a fish in a tournament, you must then race back to land in your boat to turn it in -- while other players attempt to knock the fish out of your boat. Which ... actually sounds like a pretty enjoyable gameplay element. Rapala: We Fish will be out in North America on September 29.

Atleast saying something like "Quest 64" sounded cool...
this is just weak.
Wiizer ($299) Having BC On Your Launch Console? (Priceless) @ Aug 31st 2009 9:59AM
Yeah, ti sounded like you did all 63 of the other quests without all the tedious work...
Jerk Face @ Aug 31st 2009 10:19AM
God, Quest 64 was such a pile of shit.
Thief @ Aug 31st 2009 10:51AM
@Jerk Face: What're you talkin about? An RPG where your main characters name is "Brian" sounds like GOTY to me.
Cody @ Aug 31st 2009 10:00AM
Any game (certainly one with this type of gameplay) NOT incorporating Motion Plus as at least an option after July 2009 is epic fail IMHO.
whylekat @ Aug 31st 2009 10:18AM
@Cheif
WTF, we're talking about wii games here....
Akronon @ Aug 31st 2009 10:40AM
I think the Chief is definitely getting Halo 3 ODST: Lotion Plus Edition.
He's gonna need the lotion to avoid the chafing.
Storm Eagle [Resident Capcom Megafan] @ Aug 31st 2009 10:18AM
The difference between "64" and "We" is that "64" just seems to roll of the tongue. "We" makes you sound like you're a 4 year old kid with a mental disorder...Just shout the name of one of those games and you'll see what I'm talking about.
whylekat @ Aug 31st 2009 10:22AM
Geez I said that to all my friends when they were hooked on Wii Sports.
You sound like an mentally challenged child saying these titles regaurdless how you spell it.
baby sea tuna @ Aug 31st 2009 10:20AM
At least this way "We" know which games to stay away from.
whylekat @ Aug 31st 2009 10:23AM
Yeah all Wii titles!
Zing!!
fikhl @ Aug 31st 2009 6:45PM
@whylekat
It's really silly to think all the games that are on Wii are craps like this, do a bit of research and I'm sure you'll find some fantastic games which I believe will definitely justify the price you've payed for them. None of the Joystiq readers would find such games worthy of a look, let alone buyin them, playing them.
Wii is simply not all about these shitty games, that's what I'm saying.
Ryan Hamilton @ Aug 31st 2009 10:24AM
Screw Batman Arkham Asylum! I wanna play these awesome Wii games. Thanks Nintendo. You really know what the public wants. That public being soccer moms, 7 year olds and grandparents. Your core audience, which is fine for you guys. You're making millions off these poor saps. Way to go!
whylekat @ Aug 31st 2009 10:31AM
It's true. Majority of times I visit my local gamestop there's at least 1 mom with a handful of crappy wii titles asking if her 8-15 yr old will enjoy them.
Mr Khan @ Aug 31st 2009 10:42AM
back for more pwnage, my friend?
Listen. These rants are amatuerish and old hat. If you want to troll Wii effectively, you have to get original, and embrace more of the FUD.
whylekat @ Aug 31st 2009 10:57AM
@Mr Khan
I dunno who that was directed to, but niether of ranted or trolled right here. Mr Hamilton praised nintendo for their brilliant sales scheme and I simply stayed previous shopping expierences.
Maybe you hit the wrong "reply" button..?
tmacairjordan87 @ Aug 31st 2009 11:46AM
I was just in Gamestop today paying off the rest of my preorders, and a woman comes in and says she wants to trade in some of her son's games for Wii Sports Resort.
She had Madworld, Galaxy, and Brawl.
I wanted to cry.
Nushio @ Aug 31st 2009 10:35AM
I think the reason the games aren't called "Wii" is for trademark reasons and only Ninty can use the name.
Kinda like with the Android (Cellphone) market forbids apps being called 'Android' or 'Droid'
Taylor @ Aug 31st 2009 10:29AM
That didn't stop Pilotwings 64 or Wave Race 64 from being epic! That said, these 'We' games are definately not epic.
whylekat @ Aug 31st 2009 10:35AM
Didn't they make a new Pilotwings for Wii and it was terrible?
Mr Khan @ Aug 31st 2009 10:42AM
They made something similar for Wii Sports Resort, and it was awesome, but no real Pilotwings entry quite yet. Legend has it that's what Factor 5 was working on.
whylekat @ Aug 31st 2009 10:52AM
I vaugely remember a pilotwings sequel releasing to lackluster reviews.. For gamecube maybe? Anyone remember? Of course I'm too lazy to look it up myself.
Taylor @ Aug 31st 2009 11:04AM
No sequel has come out for Pilotwings 64. Why does it seem like Nintendo drops the ball on great franchises. Wave Race 64 had a sequel that was a good follow-up, but wasn't as ground breaking. I would love for a Donkey Kong Country Wii game to come out. Diddy Kong Racing? I know those were created by Rare, but Nintendo still owns the rights to them.
uncle jesse @ Aug 31st 2009 11:06AM
Joystiq: We Comment
Lurkero @ Aug 31st 2009 11:46AM
Super [game series] and [game series] 64 were actually pretty cool and identifiable naming conventions. Too bad there was nothing for the Gamecube.
Now Nintendo is back with the Wii! WiiFit, WiiPlay, and WiiSports take all the heat. Luckily Nintendo didn't go with WiiZelda or WiiMario.
Cody @ Aug 31st 2009 1:51PM
Ah but you forget!
New Super Mario Bros. Wii :)
