Sucker Punch looking for an artist hip to 'urban style'
When we read on superannuation that Sucker Punch was looking for a lead character artist -- one that "should be aware of current urban style and street fashion" -- we, like you, thought, "Oh, that's nice, Sucker Punch is making another inFamous game." But, since we're professionals, we went beyond our first instinct to see what else we could come up with. We then decided that we were pretty sure about the inFamous thing after all.
So remember, if Sucker Punch is making a sequel to Marc Ecko's Getting Up (which has got to be called Marc Ecko's Going Back to Bed) or a new Jet Grind Radio, you saw the possibility roundly dismissed on Joystiq first.

Jet Grind Radio is never coming back. I've accepted that reality, and I've moved on.
Young_Nastyman @ Aug 31st 2009 11:56AM
*sniff* No! I'll NEVER accept it!!!

I feel like making a reference to a Rick Astley song, you know the one but I won't.
I'm not sure about that maybe when Sega needs more money for their new projects they re-release Jet Set Radio now that why don't they use the Hedgehog engine to make Jet Set Radio or Vectorman again is a question for another day.
lobotomies4free @ Aug 31st 2009 1:06PM
I needs my Jet Grind Radio!
I keep hoping that at least ONE of the systems will start releasing DC classics for download. (It'd be a short list but still a good one no?) Power Stone 2 FTW!

@Mr. Manly
Never say together forever? 'Cause don't you know I would move heaven and earth to be together forever with you~

Don't give up. Sega has to give us Jet Grind or Space Channel 5 eventually

I for one liked the districts in the Urbz, something like that would be cool.
Maverick Saturn (Igor) @ Aug 31st 2009 12:07PM
Hmm, I can just imagine it now, all the mutants walking around looking hip in thier Tims etc blasting off fireballs and whatnot. Hold up a sec....if you get hit with a fireball, what difference does it make that you're hip? Your clothes would be burnt to cinders O.o

Yea everyone should just be naked, they're going to die anyway.

For the love of God, please be a new Sly game. PLEASE!

Remember the sly 4 showing at the inFamous theater? ;)
mgsrocks1 @ Sep 1st 2009 2:27AM
I'm thinking its gonna be Sly4. If you've played Infamous, Cole was basically Sly right? The way he moved, climbed, and interacted with the environment. So I'm thinking Infamous was their experiment to see how a next-gen Sly game would be like on the PS3.

Please make a new Jet set radio game!!
Such a good game, Don't make games like those anymore :(
Evan @ Aug 31st 2009 1:12PM
If Sucker Punch makes an inFamous sequel or starts another franchise before making another Sly Cooper game, it's a good bet the Sly Cooper franchise will be dead forever. Which is sad, Sly was a good game and the PS3 is really weak in it's target demographic. The worst part is, they announced a PS3 Sly game in May 2007 and dropped it for inFamous. So close, so close.
nickaus805 @ Aug 31st 2009 1:17PM
really weak in its target demographic? Im pretty sure the target demographic isn't 9-12 yr olds...They kind of lack buying power.
Frank @ Aug 31st 2009 1:28PM
There's still Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank, and I believe Naughty Dog's planning a new Jak & Daxter.
Sly's gonna have to get in the middle of that pile if he wants a piece of the demographic this generation.
Jacksons @ Aug 31st 2009 10:58PM
I'm really glad Ratchet and Mario are still holding down the platformer fort. It's still my favorite genre, and aside from the two mentioned, LittleBigPlanet and Braid, there haven't been many great ones on home consoles this generation.
More generic shooters with a gimmick than you can shake a stick at, though.
Frank @ Aug 31st 2009 1:31PM
I suspect this might cause inFamous 2 to have unreasonable amounts of product placement. Which would be fine with me if you could blow up billboards with those brands on them. (:
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Aug 31st 2009 7:06PM
I really don't think Naughty Dog are going back to Jak and Daxter. There hasn't been any Ape Escape ps3 announcement. Sly 4 probably has most potential out of all of them.
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Aug 31st 2009 7:07PM
I really want inFamous 2 but Sly 4 just as badly. I don't care which they do first just please work on your great franchises Sucker Punch.
Jacksons @ Aug 31st 2009 10:37PM
I suppose they have the big flashy engine all made, may as well make another InFamous.
For the record, Sly > Cole.

Magic City Man knows a thing or two about being urban, judging from the mega64 snapshot you used for this article. I love it.
