Did you know that at this very minute, millions of people worldwide are sitting on a fortune in gold? It's true! And you could be one of them! Capcom wants to help increase your gold treasures by one full jetpack, offering the item as a pre-order bonus with Dark Void when it lands on GameStop shelves early next year.
Rather than be way boring and send out a press release (though Capcom did that too), we've got the full faux commercial you see above, hilariously detailing the bonus; though a bit of gameplay of the jetpack can be found on the promo's website.
"My life used to be miserable and meaningless, but thanks to GOLD4JETPACK.com, I don't cry myself to sleep anymore!" Thanks GOLD4JETPACK.com!
one time, i walked in, and they said that a MW2 multiplayer beta would be a preorder bonus eventually, but i think they were just desperate for a preorder since that's pretty unlikely.
Seriously well done. The only thing missing was "just put your old jetpack into this plastic bag and send it to us". Do people really use those gold-to-money services?
A really big gold helmet that you can impress the girls with. Anyone can get a gold jetpack, flash a gold tooth or wave around their gold plated Glock but you just don't see anyone waving around their shiny gold helmet in public.
Garbage like this is making me hate videogames. What an incredible waste, and all to further a scuzzy establishment like Gamestop.
Seriously, screw the hardcore. They label themselves as "elite" and "hardcore" to give themselves this false sense of superiority, but look at the rubbish they swallow down every year.
Gamestop sees these people for what they really are, suckers.
Why is an in-game extra making the whole game rubbish? How do you know millions will flock to this small bonus and buy the whole game? Are you clairvoyant? Will the new Castlevania game suck, too?
They should have done that for Gears of War 2. "With a Golden Lancer, you can see all the accumulated blood and gore drying on the exclusive finish. You won't want to kill anyone any other way!"
Unlimited boost sounds cool. However, I don't need it to be gold...and why can't we just get this offer from pre-ordering it anywhere. Why does it always have to be GameStop? I prefer Amazon or even my local Wal-Mart over GameStop.
