Grand Theft Auto IV's The Ballad of Gay Tony will sashay into stores on October 29th as part of the Episodes from Liberty City retail disc. While hog ridin' formed the draw of GTA IV's most recent DLC episode, The Lost and Damned, it appears that the sparkly nightlife and parachuting out of helicopters is what you'll find described with enthusiasm on the back of the box.
With no mention of the Xbox Live version on any of the current materials, we're following up with Rockstar and Microsoft to confirm the release date for the Xbox Live Marketplace version.
Update: Microsoft tells us the release date is Oct. 29 for both the retail and Xbox Live Marketplace versions of the expansion.

Then why in the hell did you bother to even open the article?
Did you expect it to open and suddenly be about another game? I understand opinions and all but it's just blatant trolling to come to a GTA IV post and bitch about how much you don't like GTA.

That "girl" is a bunch of pixels.
Also, parachuting from helicopters is nothing to get excited about. i.e. Saint's Row and Just Cause.
The trailer definitely looks exciting though. Plus, was that a P90? And a golf cart?
Sweet.

I beg to differ. Jumping out of a helicopter is a lot of fun. I have 30+ helo jumps and it's a lot of fun compared to jumping out of a plane. See when you jump out of a plane you continue forward momemtum for a bit. Much like how when you throw a beer bottle out of the window of a moving car it doesn't drop straight down. So when you do a helo jump, you actually fall straight down, much like BASE jumping.

It would be cheaper just to get the 40 dollar disc version of the game, than buy a bigger hard drive.

Exactly my reason why I'm not going to buy this thing yet. I already dished out 20 bucks for LADD, and it was worth it every penny. But I would've prefered a disc-based version. I'm not going to pay for the LADD twice, so I'll just wait till I get get a copy of the disc for cheap, somewhere along the line.
With all the games that are still coming out this year and Q1 next year, I can wait.

I do love the idea of setting these expansions in the same city but from different view points. TLAD felt like an almost totally different game, despite the fact you were going to a lot of the same locations and even meeting up with the same characters.
Seeing it from the rich playboy perspective should be great. Less naked men this time though, please?

I think alot more people like the game than you think, I mean Lost and the damned did pretty well so there's still alot of love for GTAIV. It's just a few really loud and really annoying people who whine about the game because, "I CAN'T GO AND KILL RANDOM PEOPLE WITH A TANK!!! THIS GAME SUCKS!!!"

I loved GTA IV also. I thought it was very fun and entertaining! This and the new Splinter Cell is 2 of the main reasons why I finally bought a 360. I cant wait for to play this and Lost and the Damned.
I'll be getting Uncharted 2 for PS3 and then this for my new 360 for my b-day. PS360 FTW!!!

Is it cool to hate the horribly broken driving physics and mechanics, because I hate them both with a firey passion? I mean hate, loathe, despise, etc etc.
GTA might as well stand for Get a Taxi Asshole, because I spend more time riding in cabs then driving myself, just to save time and frustration.
Other then that, I love this game for it's humor and voice work.

TLAD was awesome, Johnny K is one of my favorite game characters ever too. The only problem I had with it was the driving physics, those were terrible. I used to loathe GTA for not being fun or exciting, and I praised SR2, but then when TLAD came out i played that and the original campaign and I honestly forgot what any of my complaints were. The only other thing that would make it better is customization, that's where SR2 really hits the nail on the head

You can't deny the difference between GTA 4 and San Andreas. Some call it an improvement and others a let down. While I didn't totally hate GTA IV I was disappointed about the lost of the freedom and customization of the previous games.

I really wanted to love GTA, bought it on release day with a strat guide even, but just couldn't get into it. Having to drive across town to take some dude out to play darts just didn't work for me. Played probably about 25% of the game and haven't made it any further. One of these days I'll give it another shot.

They should of made all of that optional. Or at least not penalize you when you actually wanna play the game instead going on a virtual date.

Oh, I know... Just on Joystiq there is alot of hate for the game. Yeah, there are some defenders of the game (myself included), but there are alot of people on 'Stiq that feel like the game doesn't deserve the accolades it's gotten..
Rubbish, I say.

I think alot of the hate on joystiq has cooled down quite a bit since the release of LatD, so it's not as bad as it was before.
