GTA IV's The Ballad of Gay Tony sings on Oct. 29
Grand Theft Auto IV's The Ballad of Gay Tony will sashay into stores on October 29th as part of the Episodes from Liberty City retail disc. While hog ridin' formed the draw of GTA IV's most recent DLC episode, The Lost and Damned, it appears that the sparkly nightlife and parachuting out of helicopters is what you'll find described with enthusiasm on the back of the box.
With no mention of the Xbox Live version on any of the current materials, we're following up with Rockstar and Microsoft to confirm the release date for the Xbox Live Marketplace version.
Update: Microsoft tells us the release date is Oct. 29 for both the retail and Xbox Live Marketplace versions of the expansion.

this looks really awesome. too bad GTA is not a fun game...
REP96st @ Sep 1st 2009 1:49PM
Oh, and you're bugging.
To each his own I guess..
MikeO. @ Sep 1st 2009 6:54PM
Then why in the hell did you bother to even open the article?
Did you expect it to open and suddenly be about another game? I understand opinions and all but it's just blatant trolling to come to a GTA IV post and bitch about how much you don't like GTA.
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Sep 1st 2009 8:02PM
Quit trying. Its impossible to reason with a weeaboo when it comes to a western title.
Anemos @ Sep 1st 2009 10:08PM
0:44 - An Asian chef gets bitchslapped.
I wonder how that will work into Tony's Gay Ballad/Gay Tony's Ballad or whatever.

Man that girl in the pink dress is so hot...
Justin @ Sep 1st 2009 2:02PM
That "girl" is a bunch of pixels.
Also, parachuting from helicopters is nothing to get excited about. i.e. Saint's Row and Just Cause.
The trailer definitely looks exciting though. Plus, was that a P90? And a golf cart?
Sweet.
Bubbameister33 @ Sep 1st 2009 2:13PM
That's a guy.

Tristax @ Sep 1st 2009 3:16PM
I beg to differ. Jumping out of a helicopter is a lot of fun. I have 30+ helo jumps and it's a lot of fun compared to jumping out of a plane. See when you jump out of a plane you continue forward momemtum for a bit. Much like how when you throw a beer bottle out of the window of a moving car it doesn't drop straight down. So when you do a helo jump, you actually fall straight down, much like BASE jumping.

Why not? I'd love to run this on a PC at higher settings, I pay more, I get more, what is so bad about that?
Snowblind @ Sep 1st 2009 1:51PM
And I don't have the space to download it. Bigger/cheaper HDD's, please?
ANTHOLOGY @ Sep 1st 2009 1:54PM
It would be cheaper just to get the 40 dollar disc version of the game, than buy a bigger hard drive.
MystileArmor @ Sep 1st 2009 1:55PM
Exactly my reason why I'm not going to buy this thing yet. I already dished out 20 bucks for LADD, and it was worth it every penny. But I would've prefered a disc-based version. I'm not going to pay for the LADD twice, so I'll just wait till I get get a copy of the disc for cheap, somewhere along the line.
With all the games that are still coming out this year and Q1 next year, I can wait.
REP96st @ Sep 1st 2009 2:00PM
+1
Ditto.
Snowblind @ Sep 1st 2009 2:05PM
I do love the idea of setting these expansions in the same city but from different view points. TLAD felt like an almost totally different game, despite the fact you were going to a lot of the same locations and even meeting up with the same characters.
Seeing it from the rich playboy perspective should be great. Less naked men this time though, please?
Jason Statham (Has a ps3 now) @ Sep 1st 2009 2:11PM
"Less naked men this time though, please?"
"The Ballad of Gay Tony"
I think you may be disappointed.
JUNG GUNS @ Sep 1st 2009 4:43PM
you can buy the game brand new for 20 bucks
arrrgh @ Sep 2nd 2009 11:16AM
+1 on the less naked men.
Why is it that a full monty schlong is acceptable, but the bitches in the club still don't take it all off...
so to recap: less wang, more chest cannons...or at least "equal" parts dangley pete and boob baron
REP96st @ Sep 1st 2009 1:51PM
I forgot how it's the "Cool Thing" to hate GTAIV on Joystiq... Guess I'm one of the few who Loves GTAIV.
Gavin @ Sep 1st 2009 1:52PM
Nah I love it too... just a PS3 owner so I get left out regardless :P
Jason Statham (Has a ps3 now) @ Sep 1st 2009 1:55PM
I think alot more people like the game than you think, I mean Lost and the damned did pretty well so there's still alot of love for GTAIV. It's just a few really loud and really annoying people who whine about the game because, "I CAN'T GO AND KILL RANDOM PEOPLE WITH A TANK!!! THIS GAME SUCKS!!!"
Nerdy Desi @ Sep 1st 2009 2:05PM
Come on MS, this has to come to PC, its a Games for Windows LIVE title, please!?!?!?
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Sep 1st 2009 2:11PM
My favorite game of the series is IV, I didn't like San Andreas.
Besides I have Saint Row 2 if I ever want to do something ridiculous.
MLC (PSN: Myke-Myke & XBL: MLC45) @ Sep 1st 2009 2:17PM
I loved GTA IV also. I thought it was very fun and entertaining! This and the new Splinter Cell is 2 of the main reasons why I finally bought a 360. I cant wait for to play this and Lost and the Damned.
I'll be getting Uncharted 2 for PS3 and then this for my new 360 for my b-day. PS360 FTW!!!
Cash @ Sep 1st 2009 3:18PM
Is it cool to hate the horribly broken driving physics and mechanics, because I hate them both with a firey passion? I mean hate, loathe, despise, etc etc.
GTA might as well stand for Get a Taxi Asshole, because I spend more time riding in cabs then driving myself, just to save time and frustration.
Other then that, I love this game for it's humor and voice work.
The Dark Wayne @ Sep 1st 2009 5:02PM
TLAD was awesome, Johnny K is one of my favorite game characters ever too. The only problem I had with it was the driving physics, those were terrible. I used to loathe GTA for not being fun or exciting, and I praised SR2, but then when TLAD came out i played that and the original campaign and I honestly forgot what any of my complaints were. The only other thing that would make it better is customization, that's where SR2 really hits the nail on the head
philmcphail @ Sep 1st 2009 5:26PM
You can't deny the difference between GTA 4 and San Andreas. Some call it an improvement and others a let down. While I didn't totally hate GTA IV I was disappointed about the lost of the freedom and customization of the previous games.
seb640 @ Sep 1st 2009 1:52PM
Looks interesting storywise, and finally we're getting the street Buffalo, enough of the FIB, and a GTA IVed Maserati !
Interesting cars...
Bravo6 @ Sep 1st 2009 1:54PM
I really wanted to love GTA, bought it on release day with a strat guide even, but just couldn't get into it. Having to drive across town to take some dude out to play darts just didn't work for me. Played probably about 25% of the game and haven't made it any further. One of these days I'll give it another shot.

iTzDaKroniK @ Sep 1st 2009 2:27PM
try using the taxi's more its a time saver.
philmcphail @ Sep 1st 2009 5:12PM
They should of made all of that optional. Or at least not penalize you when you actually wanna play the game instead going on a virtual date.
REP96st @ Sep 1st 2009 1:56PM
The transport helicopter took off with a whole train car!!! As long as they keep dropping expansions, I will buy them. BTW R*, can we get a Little Jacob story... Please??
Leo161 @ Sep 3rd 2009 12:13AM
Or a Tommy Vercetti Cameo appearance!
REP96st @ Sep 1st 2009 2:00PM
@Jason S.
Oh, I know... Just on Joystiq there is alot of hate for the game. Yeah, there are some defenders of the game (myself included), but there are alot of people on 'Stiq that feel like the game doesn't deserve the accolades it's gotten..
Rubbish, I say.
Jason Statham (Has a ps3 now) @ Sep 1st 2009 2:08PM
I think alot of the hate on joystiq has cooled down quite a bit since the release of LatD, so it's not as bad as it was before.
REP96st @ Sep 1st 2009 2:02PM
the +1 was for Snowblind... Dang, this system is so broken!
