PAX 2009 sells out... er, is sold out
If you hadn't already registered for this week's Penny Arcade Expo and were hoping to snag a pass at the door, you don't want to read this tweet. If you did, you'd see the dreadful words: "It's official! PAX 2009 is completely sold out!" Oh, sorry about that -- awkward.
So yes, it's official -- the PAX website has even updated with the news. We spoke with show organizers who assured us that they'd "love to let more people in," but that the venue itself has reached capacity based on the number of passes sold. (They're expecting roughly 75,000 attendees, up from last year's 58,500.)
Looks like it's time to register for PAX East and start pricing airfare to Boston. Or, y'know, you could always borrow a friend's pass. We're sure they won't mind; heck, you shouldn't even ask.

Yeah, I waited a bit too long on this one, and couldn't get a Saturday pass. I was still able to get a Friday pass though.

thats too bad for people without tickets. I would have gone, BUT ITS ON THE SAME WEEKEND AS BUMBERSHOOT!!!
seriously, as much as I love videogames, I'd rather see all the bands that come through. I'll be able to play L4D2 and all the other games at some point in the future, but I might not get another chance to see all the bands I'm looking forward too.

Three-day pass, hotel across the street. Sometimes life is very, very good.

This calls for a high five.

...and now 3-day passes are going for up to $200 on Craigslist in Seattle.

Let's hope PAX East isn't the lame-fest they're predicting it to be.

There are rumors it's going to suck? As a New Jersey resident, this area of the country has been pretty dry in the way of video game conventions. I was considering getting a group of people to ship off to Boston. Why are people saying PAX Boston will suck?

I know I'm going to get down-voted here, but I find the entire concept of PAX to be a big turnoff. No matter what the PA folks do, their charity, their conventions, I can't help but think it's all about them. And all of the media attention they get is just ridiculous.

Bulleseye, you could not be more wrong, PAX is all about US, its all about being a gamer and hanging out with 75,000 other gamers. Yes Penny Arcade is the name on the door, but its a couple of guys that understand what it is to be a gamer. That's why PAX has grown and grown.
It's clear that you have never been to PAX, this is my fourth year and it has grown because there is nothing else like it. E3 is for the industry, PAX is for the gamers.
You should also read some interviews that Jerry and Mike have done. Maybe you can understand that although there is a certain amount of attitude, they are also understand that everything they do would not happen if they didn't pay attention to their fans.

I did the impossible: I thought ahead and pre-ordered way back in April. Now my friend is pissed because he only got Friday and Sunday.
