Having released today on Xbox 360, and with three days to go until it drops on PC for North American retailers, Section 8 has only a few scant opportunities for a pre-release volley of teaser materials. The latest assault is a new trailer and a couple images for the shooter.
Don't let the lack of hype for the title fool you; fans of objective-based multiplayer should definitely try out the demo, which doles out a taste of the game's dynamic mission system. Oh, and it has jetpacks. Everyone likes those, right? Drop into a game and check it out.
It's not 3rd person, but obviously you haven't even given it a try. Just like 95% of the other posters here. It's nothing like halo, it is very much a pc styled multiplayer shooter that relies heavily on teamwork and takes inspiration from the original tribes game. Best multiplayer experience on the 360 imo.
This game is actually REALLY fun once you get into it, especially with a squad of friends. It can be a bit daunting at first though with so much going on.
"If that's so instead of downvoting negative comments you could post an insight for the ignorant masses you know?"
I thought that's exactly what I was doing.
I don't work for SouthPeak, in fact in my opinion SouthPeak is responsible for such a poor public view on Section 8. They have done nothing to market Section 8, and not only did they not have a street date, they didn't even manage a hard release date.
As far as the mass of poor review scores Section 8 has received, I see 2 scores on metacritic. An 80 and a 60 respectively.
Perhaps seeing as you are so busy at work, you could refrain from posting uninformed flame bait in the comments section of a video game blog post, and go do what you are paid to do?
I didn't mean to start a ruckus, but I did some research about the game before I will spend my money. Looks like a good game, and I may end up buying it. I'll wait to see a solid MetaCritic rating before I go through with it, but it seems like it's a complete suprise (and that some were even looking forward to the game). I appreciate the advice (and Silencio, I appreciate you defending me), but I know to do some research before I spend some cash =)
This game plays/controls like crap. When I first landed and started moving around, I thought I must be kneeling down I was moving so slow (but I was standing). Yet you can run at speed when pushing down the left thumbstick. Why move so slow and then super fast, it's fucking dumb. Generic guns and grenades and the different classes appear ro have no real differences.....maybe a little more armor but being a different load out has no effect on movement or anything that I can see.
Played the game for about ten minutes, killed lots of guys (had the best score on my team) and it was absolutely not fun. Imagine if u were losing.....how much more un-fun would that be? This game had no redeeming qualitites whatsoever that I could see.
Best multiplayer......yeah, if u never played one before. I would rather play Delta Force (the very first online military multiplayer) than this piece of garbage.
