Here's today's enormous, shocking revelation: The recently announced Blu-ray God of War collection is going to be a whole heck of a lot like its PS2-based counterparts. Aside from a 720p visual boost and perhaps the addition of an HD-friendly HUD and font, the rest of the re-released games will "be the pure experience, what people would have played when they played God of War originally," according to a recent IGN interview with Sony Santa Monica's director of product development, John Hight.
If you're put off by the lack of new features, perhaps your raging Trophy addiction will be cause enough to purchase the Blu-ray collection. Hight confirmed that the two games both contain their own unique sets of trophies, adding that there would "probably" be two prestigious Platinum trophies available for hardcore completionists. We shudder to imagine the amount of dismemberment required to obtain these merits. This is us shuddering.

As long as one of the trophies isn't beat the game on god mode. I tried 1 on god mode and kept getting completely destroyed. I would rather play contra 3, ghosts and goblins, and demons souls without a break than go through that again.
I'll do anything for a trophy...but I won't do that.

Part 1 was a lot harder on the hardest mode,. What worries me is if they make it so it's properly widescreen and not just cropped like they did in the GoW2. WHen you fought Theseus with widescreen on it would hide some of the ice spikes that would pop up, and on hardest mode those would instantly kill you! Took me a while to figure that out.

This looks good. But still Tmac, you're such a hypocrite.
About Metroid Prime Trilogy:
"Nintendo rehashing old games instead of coming up with new worthwhile IPs? I'm shocked........shocked I tells ya."
"We're not debating quality, we're debating why Nintendo is competing with Square-Enix in the rehash department. Now, Square is struggling money wise so they have somewhat of an excuse but Nintendo surely isn't struggling in the bank department.
They've really become such a sad company to watch this generation."
"I'm also not surprised at everyone getting excited to play rehashes of old games. If there's 1 word to describe pretty much everything and everyone involved in this industry this gen, it's predictable."
"I would be butthurt if my consoles followed Nintendo's path, but as we've seen this gen they both are vastly superior in every way and continue to pump out AAA epic quality games. You'll have to come back next gen to see if I'll be butthurt."
Then comes along this news and:
"I would have bought this anyway even if it doesn't come with a demo of 3 like the rumor suggested, but adding trophies and making it in HD too? Good lord Sony, you've suddenly made my copies of GoW 1 & 2 disappear, I wonder what happened to them..."

I seriously don't give a flying fuck if GOW3 is just a rehash of GOW1 and 2. It's still THE game that's making me want to buy a PS3. You people act like more of a good thing is bad.

I'm sure the trophies include beating both on god mode.
2 was really hard on god mode. Trying to save that guy so he can read the book...ugh.
1 wasn't bad, although if you played in widescreen, the room with the all the moving belts (that's in 1, right?) is really tough because you can't see the marks on the ground showing the harpies are going to crash down on you.

You're like, forgetting you said all of that after your little game. And like, still keep posting BS to Nintendo threads. But like, its not as much as before. So maybe like, you see it as reform. But like, I don't see your point whatsoever.

I hate to break it to you, but all of that was said when it was still going on. Trust me, I remember it...as I should, since I said it. I still haven't said anything bad about nintendo since then, only bad games that deserve it, like the conduit.

Wait, so if Nintendo re-releases GameCube games for the Wii (with new play controls), it's an uninspiring rehash?
But when Sony does it for PS2 games like God of War (in the face of criticism of lack of BC), suddenly it's time to praise them?
Sony fanboys are such hypocrites.

Never said GOW3 was a rehash. Or even that this was bad. Combat in GOW has always been solid and there isn't much you could change.
Well, the use of different combos or moves on different types of creatures as they're more effective while others aren't would be good though. Just forcing you to mix it up and keep it varied. I find myself getting to a certain point in the moves unlock where I find two, maybe three, moves/combos that I keep falling back on all of the time because they're just so effective.
I'd like to see a point where I try "ass beater no.2" combo on a creature and they just brush it off and leave me in a state of, "well now the fuck what?"
And use the thesis paper as much as you want tmac. You still walk into nintendo threads and start fights. No one appreciates it. And some of it may be because of extreme animosity towards you for months of trolling but what did you expect? A loving embrace and some makeup sex?

No, I'd like for people to stop spreading lies and/or exaggerations. I say something bad about the conduit for example, and people twist it into me saying bad things about the Wii itself or Nintendo to make me look bad.
You tried to do it too, by linking quotes from a 4 month old article and trying to make it look like I just said all that when a lot's changed since then.

Not a liar? Well then!
lie
intransitive verb
1 : to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive
2 : to create a false or misleading impression
So if you were to stick with your "thesis" statement, which part of that definition doesn't fit you? And if you weren't, which part of that definition doesn't fit you?
And if you need recent statements from you I do believe you like to say you don't care about what other people think all of the time. Last month, two months ago, and so on. But, you certainly are now.
Liar.

Because he said he wanted to buy a compilation of 2 great games? Who the fuck cares? Is it really worth being a troll yourself just to call him out on a bunch of stupid shit nobody could care less about?

This is one ugly attack going on. Like it or not Redjack, tmac is part of the pack around here and whether he is being good or not, it sure isn't worth it to go on such a rampage. Hell, a Joystiq without tmac would make us sad pandas. You don't want that do you? We all give him grief over some posts, and we all get grief from some of our posts too - but he doesn't do his posts to cause anyone deep rooted pain and anguish. Save your rage for those here who attack people for their personal lives or their political beliefs without any basis.
Also, tmac, i'm thinking of doing a thesis on you being attacked for doing a thesis now - It will blow minds!

I'm sure its been as civil as it can be in these threads and so you guys have no reason to really dislike tmac. Unfortunately things are going to spill over into the PS and Xbox threads from time to time. And already tmac's run out of witty things to say and its looking for empathy from the PS crowd as you hold tmac in some regard.
I do not. Neither do a lot of people. So skepticism will be harsh from time to time and tmac will be called out on things on a whim. You can make tmac a member of your "pack" all you want. I've been here longer and could care less what it thinks of itself or whether I'm hurting your feelings in the process. Tmac's decided to shit where it eats and has to live with it.

You don't know when to quit do you? I didn't ask for anyone's help, they came on their own because you kept going. If you would have kept quiet after your first post, you would have looked a lot better than you do now.
Besides, you were the one who decided to come out of hiding and attack me out of nowhere, and now it's backfiring because you didn't know when to retreat. You seem to be the only one who hasn't moved on from that old era. Everyone else has, including most of the nintendo fanboys here. Hell, I got freakin Fernando on my PSN friends list so that should tell you all you need to know about how much has changed.

Neat how they're separating trophies for the two titles. Now if only we could have separate, fully-implemented trophy/achievement lists for each game on, say, the Genesis compilation...

PS2 textures +1080P=Bad looking game.
I'd say if you wanted to go 1080 you'd have to update the textures with more detail. The game looks good as it is anyway.
