Gran Turismo PSP bundle arrives October 20 for $200

SCEA has announced yet another addition to its growing lineup of PSP "Entertainment Pack" bundles. The upcoming Gran Turismo pack joins Rock Band Unplugged and Hannah Montana this October by packaging a "Mystic Silver" PSP-3000 with a UMD copy of Gran Turismo, downloadable white Corvette ZR1, 2GB Memory Stick, and vouchers for movie and music downloads from the PlayStation Store and Sony Music Pass.
At $199, the limited edition bundle seems like quite a bargain, especially when you consider how much cheaper it is than a PSP Go. The announcement of yet another PSP-3000 package reaffirms Sony's stance on supporting UMD as a format -- but also places into doubt the viability of ending PSP piracy any time soon.

I could have sworn they said you get GT PSP with the Go if you buy it the first month or something...

Sony once again undermines their own efforts by releasing a bundle more appealing than their new overpriced hardware.
They apparently do not want to sell PSPGos because right now I still don't see a reason not to just get a large memory stick for my PSP 2000 instead of a PSPGo

Dear Joystiq,Seens as no one has mentioned this yet; I figured I would be the first to ask. This bundle I'm predicting will be sold in Canada as well and yet we (as I'm sure you've heard us bitch about many times) don't have the psn video store to use the voucher in. Could you by any chance ask sony for a comment on this? Because myself and a boat load of other people have been trying to get answers for ages, but with no response. If there's anyone who can get a response it's you guys (the best godamn blog on the web). Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

yeah, the lack of the video store in Canada is a pain... I wish ther was some sort of alternative, or Canadian version. I'd like to think that it's something they are working on, but I'm not holding my breath....

They recently announced the video store would be available in Europe this fall:

I know Canada isn't Europe but maybe it's a sign of things to come.

I still don't understand why the new PS3 model is cheaper when the Go shoots up $80 from the current $170 PSP models.

What does supporting UMD have to do with ending PSP piracy?
You do know that all the PSN PSP games have been pirated too, right? Even if they did do away with UMD, piracy would continue. By maintaining UMD game support, they don't completely alienate the millions of PSP owners who want no part of DD games.
