PC indie title Spelunky is ready to explore the dark, cavernous recesses of your console when it makes its way to Xbox Live Arcade in 2010. Developer Derek Yu says he'll be "stuffing [the XBLA version] with new graphics, audio and other features for XBLA users." He's not sure if he'll update the original PC version of Spelunky, as he believes it "doesn't need replacing," but he'll continue supporting it as a free title.
If you're curious about Spelunky, you can always download the original for PC from the game's website. If playing video games isn't "your thing" and you're still curious, check out the many, many YouTube videos on the game. Also, why ... are you reading this website?

I loved Spelunker on my C64. This doesn't seem to have the same look as it.
Actually I went to Wiki and I see that the C64 was a port from the Atari. Which looked more like this. Could be fun. when I was playing Shadow Complex I reminisced about playing Spelunker. It would be nice to see a Shadow Complex/Trine version of it, as a 2.5D side-scroller.

Spelunky is different than spelunker, this is a randomly generated adventure game coded by Derek Yu and it's free to download here: http://www.spelunkyworld.com/original.html

really hard with keyboard. Less hard with controller...but still hard. But most of all has awesome replay value since it is a new game everytime you play it. Try speed running this Mario experts.

I'm not sure what's wrong with me. I used to love these types of games. I used to love side scrollers, too (Mario, Megaman, etc.) but now I just get bored of them.
For the rest of you, I'm sure this is good news. I'll just keep waiting for another Zelda or GTA5. Ugh.

I don't know which Wii games you are referring to (I'm not really into the Wii, I'm more of a Ps3 guy) but the article clearly stated that this will be an updated version of Spelunky, new graphics, audio, but most important, features!

I speak of Cave Story, in particular. It, too, gets updated graphics/audio/feautres.
