We're not sure there's a great way to write this post without you beautiful monsters turning it into flamebait -- nay, a flamesteak. We're just going to chuck it into the pit and then walk away in slow motion while the animals devour it. If we do it right, it should be very Guy Ritchie. SquareTrade, which claims to be the largest independent warranty provider in the world, has presented data indicating that the Red Ring of Death has been on the decline since the introduction of the Jasper chipset in early 2009. The findings were based on 16,000 new consoles covered by the company.
Well, that's great news! We don't think we're forgetting anything.Nope, we're all set. Well, we guess the report did say that the Wii was nine times more reliable than the 360 and four times more reliable than the PS3, but we can't imagine that's of much interest to anyone. [begin slo-mo walking]

Just throwing my personal experience out there, my Wii's graphics processor has died once, and is starting to give out again(artifacting is showing up again), but my 360 from 2007 is still pristine.

What id really like to see is a map of where RRoD occur, maybe there is a humidity thing or something else that causes the heatsinks to not stick as well and the chips to overheat, or ocean air or maybe MS doesnt like certain states or countries.
I have a launch 360 that hasnt had any issues, and it has been played at least 1500 hours not including watching movies and streaming viideo. At one point when my roommate wa unemployed he was playing 10 hours a day and then i was playing 4 after work. So its possible that some people are lucky and have systems that last a long time.

No, by everyone I mean all of the comments that I DID read. How the hell would I know what people said in comments I DIDN'T read? Logic's not your strong point, is it?

God damn it, I forgot to click "Reply" on the post of the guy I was replying to. Apparently, being observant is not my strong point, is it?

One might wonder, if xbox360 has over 50% red light problem, how much of this 50% actually fixed the xbox360 and how much didn't. If we do the math (I don't think we can do it accurately, since the numbers are not disclosed) perhaps there are more PS3 on households nowadays than xbox360. Something to think about ;P
