That sucks for Europe! They should be able to enjoy this at the same time as us in the states.

What's crazy is that Europe is more Sony loyal then I would say Japan or the US and still Sony treat them like the redhead stepchild

They're getting GT PSP for free when they buy a Go.

Of course, the downside is....they have to buy a Go, but you get the picture.

Sucks to have 50 different languages and 100 different certification processes due to each country having their own regulations on media. The Germans don't even get most FPS games thanks to their rating system. I guess it's the "oh noes don't encourage them, they'll become violent neo-nazis" legislation.

I'm not sure what part of Union the EU didn't get, but you'd think they'd want to homogenize censorship and standards laws so things like this are easier to do.

Yeah, the Go is £225. For that price you can get a 3000 with a free game, and still buy five or six other games.

I'm actually pretty tempted to get that new Dissidia bundle. (that no sites seem to have reported on)

We're NOT getting GT PSP for free. Its free to the first 10,000 that register their PSP with Sony, so if you're unfortunate/stupid enough to pay £225 on release, THEN you MIGHT be lucky enough to get a free sopy upon registration.

@snowblind

size is important is important in handhelds.

people buy 16gb ipod nanos for $200 even though they can buy a 120gb ipod for $250....because it's smaller. The same thing is happening here...spend more money for less but you get more portability. plus if you want 16gb on a psp3000 you have to spend like $45 more.

I have a feeling all of the people complaining don't actually travel when they play their psp and instead just sit on their couch.

Well, GOW 1 and 2 did have that famed p, its the resolution jump that is going to make a difference.

I have the bc ps3 and I gotta tell you, the game looks just as good at 480P as 1080P scaling. (if you choose 480p in game thats what is displayed, scaler doesnt work with it)

i don't think it's that they are doing

i think it's like what they've done to ghostbusters, adding more pixels and what not to make it look better

and on the note of how we are treated in europe, its a fucking joke, I'm from the UK and just because there are 50 other countries needing different launguage doesn't mean us in the UK should suffer!!!! just give us the american version in pal form you idiots!!

That would be a very smart move. After all, if you're paying £40 for GoW3, why not pay another fifteen quid or so for all three of them in one box, in HD and with trophies?

I don't get this 720p thing. If they're just using all the PS2 assets, they shouldn't have any problem rendering them in 1080p.

to render it in 1080p you would have to redo all the textures. the game was originally done in 720p then scaled down for the ps2.

We still never got probably will never because there so damn picky about what they will give us to use on the PS3!--> IN GAME MUSIC AND CROSS IN GAME CHAT! Seriously thinking of getting rid of my PS3 if I don't see these updates soon..The 360 has had these features since day 1...So whats your excuse now Sony!

I think it's a software emulation. Software emulation is slow...

It would be very unwise to software emulate PS2 games for a re-release when it's running through PS3 hardware on a BD... It would be much simpler for them to just port the code.

It's almost certainly not emulation. My friend at Sony told me they had the GoW engine running native on the PS3 within 3 months of GoW2's release. Polishing that up to run the GoW2 levels can't have taken much more work.

Redoing art, now that would take a while. Which is why I wonder if they really did so. For $20 per game, I kinda think not.

I hate how this always happens to all euro countries and specially the UK, where it should be ported there first as it's the biggest gaming Market in Europe and both USA and the UK speak English so there no language problems!!!! This is almost as bad as littlebigplanet that was made in the UK, but came out in the US first, ITS OUR GAME!!!!!

Anyone have a Gaming shop that exports??

As alway sucks.. Make me feel unloved by Sony as and already said the UK is probably Sonys biggest market out side of Japan and already speaking English.
SCEE is just lazy and weak, why can't we have a unified Sony.

That's actually nonsense, Ahh. Neither of the games were designed for 720p and downscaled for PS2, despite a rumour saying the original version of God of War 2 would be playable in 720p on PS3. They were always designed for SD display on the PS2. If they choose to rework the games for this collection in either 720p or 1080p, they'll have to do the same amount of work. 2D UI elements will be the main problem. Look at Tekken 5: DR on PS3. It's basically a PSP game being rendered in 1080p. Minimal work was done. That's what I expect of this release, really.
