"If learning the last song of a track list gets you this mad, I think you have more problems then the internet can help you with".

Maybe my love for music games is a little much, but the end song in a music game this big to me is like the final boss battle in Final Fantasy to others.

Would the almighty Joystiq post who the last boss is in Halo 3 ODST? I doubt it. I've talked to Ben about this and while he feels it wasn't a spoiler, clearly some people do. Whether it is a song or the last boss, spoilers are something gaming sites usually stay clear of.

I'll admit it. I probably, no scratch that, did overreact. I'm just a little peeved that it wasn't something I couldn't avoid due to it being in the title. I've seen a handful of sites report on this and Joystiq was the only one that put the song in the post title.

@PSN: John-Paul-Jones:

I thought Her Majesty came after The End.

Assuming, of course, that Her Majesty can be considered a song...

First and foremost, I honestly didn't intend to "spoil" the game for you and, if that is the case, my apologies. I assure you this was not my intention.

Second -- everyone chill out! Yes, HazyCloud and I talked, and I still don't think it's a spoiler. The last song being revealed is not the equivalent of revealing a plot point in ODST and comparing a rhythm-music game to an FPS is another thing entirely. I'm not here to argue this though as that is futile and unnecessary! I just want everyone to be cool. You're totally allowed to complain that I'm spoiling it and there's no reason for people to attack you on it. They can *disagree,* but they probably shouldn't be doing it in a jerky way. Right? Right! I hope everyone can at least agree on that.

Can anyone answer these two questions for me? I'm just not that up on this...

Can I play this game using my Guitar Hero 3 Wii guitar...

and...

I'm only interested in playing this game solo, just me, and just guitar. Kind of the classic GH game play. Does the game have an option of that?

I don't have enought friends for a full band, and I sure don't have the room for the equipment. Or that cash to buy it!

Thanks!!

I think Game Informer already showed off the entire 45 song tracklist. I remember seeing it in the Beatles Rockband issue.

They left out this track. The last track is supposed to be a secret until release -- thing is, some people already have copies of the game (outside of press apparently, or they just have some very loose morals). The GI piece has the 44/45 tracks we listed in the post linked above.

Although it's cute that the last song in the game is called "The End", I hardly think it's actually a good choice. First of all, that song is short (just a little over 2 minutes). Second, the song can't stand on its own as it is just 1/3 of Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End which altogether makes up a suite. The song kind of doesn't make sense if you listen to it by itself - you need to start with "Golden Slumbers" and finish with "The End". And finally, it isn't a particularly complex song which is fitting for a "final boss" battle in a game.

I very much disagree. The guitar in The End is nothing at all close to not being complex. It's a great piece of music and fits well, gameplay-wise and for sentimental value, as well.

I'm not a fan of these single artist games, but I will gamefly this, so at their horribly slow pace I should be able to play it in about 8 months. Why I haven't cancelled my account by now I'll never know.

Ugh, where is "A Day In The Life"? Instead they gave us 1/8 The Abbey Road Medley. I wouldn't mind if it was all 8 songs.

Let it be would be on... Let It Be, which is the original last album listed having 4 song and the only one visible is I Dig A Pony, the list I saw showed Let It Be also on the album, but there has been so many lists released who can keep them strait.

Let It Be is better off as DLC. It's piano-based and would be pretty boring in this game, aside from George's brief solo.

^ It's almost a full minute before any other instruments kick in.

Yes it's possibly the Beatles' best song, but I'm fine with it being left out in this game.

I find it interesting that they possibly chose to use 45 songs from the Beatles' discography, seeing that they have one of the highest number of #1 singles ever, 17 or 20 depending on list used, second to Elvis, singles were primarily released on 45rpm records until the 90's when CDs became more prevalent.

I don't understand how a group of people as competent at making these games as HMX can sit around for months making a Beatles specific rhythm game and NOT include Hey Jude.

It's like... how the fuck does that happen?

While it's cool to have The End as the last song, it's a rip-off to not include Golden Slumbers and Carry That Weight on the disc. It would've been better to have Hey Jude or A Day In The Life as the final song.
