A mighty good deal on Might and Magic games

Do you like vintage first-person RPGs? Do you have a decent supply of graph paper at hand? If so, Good Old Games has an offer on Might and Magic classics that could provide you with thousands of hours of gameplay for a pittance.

The site has has added the Might and Magic 6-Pack to its shop, which is essentially the same as the Might and Magic VI Limited Edition. It packages the first six Might and Magic games bundled together, with (digital) bonus materials like soundtracks and maps. The whole package sells for just 10 bucks! Considering that we'd get lost about fifteen minutes into the first one and never finish it, the set offers infinite gameplay.

Yeah, I noticed that too...Kind of gives me a headache after a minute or two...

It's called advertising.

At least it's appropriately targeted. Most of Joystiq's ads aren't even for the right audience. Examples: ads about mortgage rates, weight loss, online degrees.

Case in point, I see an ad under this post right now telling me "A healthy lifestyle can help your child succeed" from the USDA.

They have to make money somehow, right? At least it's not as bad as some of the stuff on 1up and IGN.

At least its appropriate to the site, unlike that yoga ad to the right...

...or the Trojan ad towards the bottom...

Get Firefox, use ad block pro, and there are no ads.

Look guys, get Adblock Plus on Firefox and never deal with an ad again. Or, you know, just don't do anything to help yourself out and keep bitching about how much ads suck.

Advertising "get back in touch with your classmates" on a site for nerds takes some serious balls.

i already have adblock on firefox, so i don't know about the other ads, but damn did that background get annoying. and yes, einhander, i know it's advertising. no shit sherlock.

I still want the Heroes of Might and Magic games, mainly on Steam. I would buy HOMM3 Complete if it was on steam the moment it came out!

You can buy HOMM3 complete from good old games. DRM free, cheap.

Yeah Huey but i'm a steam fanatic. Just like i wish Quake IV would hit steam.

I wish Steam would make the achievements more useful/visible/meaningful on there. And I wish developers would realise how much more attractive full-retail games would be if they had Steam achievements - after all, it's the biggest digital distribution service out there, and it's MUCH more profitable for everyone involved, because you're not having to manufacture discs and distribute them.

Wow, that is a really good deal. I used to play a ton of Might and Magic VI when I was younger and I've been wanting to give it another try in the past few years.

I bought this yesterday, the day it came out. Works like a charm

(don't miss the copy protection crack included in PDF form in the installation folder).

Actually, only MM1 needs the graph paper (if you are incapable of running it in a window or Alt-tabbing out of DOSBox to google the damn maps). MM2 introduced a full color automap, which was only improved from there.

Get the cartographer's skill early, and use Wizard's Eye (Eagle Eye in 2 for outdoor maps).

Some of my favorite, and some of the best, RPGs ever made IMO. All of them are permanent residents of my hard drives.

I remember Clouds of Xeen. The game definitely felt unfinished unless you had the Darkside of Xeen. Together, the games were sweet, and I remember doing to the dark side to create characters to get to level 5 instantly.
