Insomniac Games' "Weapons 101" PAX panel had a pair of treats for Ratchet and Clank fans. After giving attendees a look at Crack in Time's expansive list of armaments, the game's director, Brian Allgeier, revealed two brand new guns: The Chimp-O-Matic, which turns enemies into adorable monkeys (and changes robotic enemies into robotic monkey toys with cymbals), and the Rift Inducer 5000, a weapon which summons tentacles from an interdimensional portal, which in turn grasp enemies and abscond with them through the vortex.
Man, that seems kinda unfair, doesn't it? "You, enemy, will be turned into an adorable monkey. However, your friend is going to be abducted to a Hell dimension, where he'll be defiled by Cthulhu forever."

Sounds good, and I'm glad I was able to preorder it the other day. Ratchet games are always enjoyable even if there's not too much to them, but I'm really looking forward to the space exploration in the game.

Yeah, I think the game is going to kick ass, but that box art just looks lazy. The box art for Tools of Destruction does too.

I have never been disappointed by a Ratchet & Clank game. I need to get a PS3.

I guess since 3 was so much better than 5 (R&C Future:ToD) and 6 (Q4B) was so short, even lacking a collect-a-thon to add playtime, I have been disappointed by R&C games before.
But I don't expect to be disappointed this time.

You were disappointed by TOD, but you expect to like this one? I don't get the logic...

Wish I caught Ratchet and Clank the first time around but I have still yet to play one of the games (its games right? I'm pretty sure). Anyway, the trailer shown during the halo ODST playthrough looked cool, and I've heard good things about the game. Gonna have to pick them up.

This game flew under the radar. Everything I hear about it makes it sound like it could be one of the best Ratchet games yet.

The R&C commercials have always been hilarious. These have been probably one of the best game ad campaigns ever:

I am so sorry Insomniac,After I played Resistance 2 and it was not as good as I thought it wouold be my faith wavered. I even thought about buying Demon Souls as opposed to RAC:CIT. But now I see. I should never doubt a Rachet game. I have enjoyed all versions of it and I should have seen that this one would rock the house no matter what the non-believers say. This game should never been under the radar, it should have hit the radar head on,broken it off and send it crashing to the ground. Don't worry Insomniac you will definately have me as a buyer. Demon Souls, GT5 and Heavy Rain will just have to wait

Nice to see The Groovitron is back. I just hope they would change it to be a weapon instead of device.

All I want out of this is for it to be challenging, even for people who use lock-strafe, which makes aiming a lot more accurate. Up Your Arsenal and Deadlocked did this fine, but I found playing through Tools of Destruction on Lock-Strafe to be way too easy.
