@ l33tpushpop

The funny thing is that, while in Spanish you are going to hear other ways of saying it, "sexo seguro" can be used as well to talk about safe sex. I'm sure that there is more than one song out there that uses that same phrase to refer to that exact meaning.

Btw l33tpushpop @, maybe you can come up with a better way of saying "sex for sure" than I did. It doesn't quite sound to me how you would express that in English. :)

Hey guys! I think it's not fair to condemn the songs just for their lyrics, I'm Colombian and I've heard "Los Toreros Muertos" for a while eventhough that band disappeared like, on 1990, the idea is that the song is a musical gag, actually all their albums were like that (and they were VERY funny, let me tell you) and it's not like to say that you don't have that kind of humour, it's just to think about the d*ck in a box you have on SNL... be fair, the song is bloody hilarious, (not something to dedicate to someone else anyway) I promise that, if you want I'll translate the lyrics for you.

I was going to be outraged at the ESRB for being more anal about a game simply due to its "Latino" label and foreign language content, but the rating summaries for other SingStar games are just as nitpicky.

I guess it's power to the parents who actually bother to look this stuff up and make an informed decision about whether content is appropriate for their particular kid or not. Too bad I have never heard of ANY parents actually looking this kind of stuff up online and doing research about video games before blindly allowing or banning stuff for their kids.

Honestly, I think most parents are knee-deep in taking care of way too much garbage to be even motivated to look into game content.

I think most parents of Spanish / Latin families don't care what music their kids listen to.. As long as it's Spanish music.

@kentuckyfried: My mom was knee deep in all kinds of worries (she was a single parent, poor, working, AND going to school for a masters/PhD) but it never failed her to be informed about what I was doing and what content I consumed. Though of course as a kid I felt she was "too informed" and I wanted her to get off my back. :P But she just proves to me that even with tons of crap going on and the odds against you, if you are dedicated enough, there's a way to stay involved in your kids' lives or at least know what's going on.

About that pee song? Joystiq, you forgot the best part!!!

"As the song plays in the background [...] a teacher pours a yellow fluid into several cups and serves them to his students, who drink heartily."

That, my friends, was ripped off of the ESRB site.

Imagine singing in English about pee while watching kids happily drink pee (lemonade?).

Actually, "mi aguita amarilla" , my yello water... is pretty funny, talks about the water cycle, but starting from a night after a 40 beers...passing down toilet...and something that people generally forget, swere lines passing down familes, friends, working places... , home, sometimes going directly to rivers, and where somepoeple actually take water to use on fields, etc going to the sea where is playing with fish you eat later, ...is pretty damn funny...:-) Dont think the retard things like 'papi chulo"..this is one is incredibly creative...:-)

hey IM SPANISH. im not a mexican, im not cuban, puertorican or any other. i am NOT a latino! the word latino implies latin american origin. i have nothing to do with latin america, im not from there, dont live there. im pretty tired and annoyed at the fact that people think Spain is pretty much the same as latin america. Chenoa is from Spain. and a lot of the comments made here show very little respect or even knowledge reguarding the difference between being spanish from spain, and speaking spanish in latin america. for example, while some latin americans may have darker skin, here in spain we are not the same. we are as white as americans. im not syaing theres anything wrong with being of a different race, but people should know the difference between a spanish person and a latino. its like if you thoguth that people in africa were all rappers and wore gold chains and shit. just because we speak spanish dosnt even mean we use the same words or phrases. according to the ESRB, this game features latin american recording artists. but half the track list is from singers from Spain. yes these artists might also be heard in latin america and even go for concerts and stuff like that, but that dosnt mean they are latin american, and their music is even less latin american. the way the game is talked about, even the box art, portrays a stereotypicall image of the latin american culture, which is very different to the spanish culture. and even then, people still think that spain is all about bullfighting and other things i wont even mention. i repeat, im spanish but im not latino. im not mexican, we dont eat tacos and burritos here in spain, we dont have mexican sombreros here. and our music, is very very different to latin american music!

your saying spanish is the same thing as mexican? you are dominican, you are not spanish, you are spanish speaking. im spanish, from Spain, but im not mexican im not cuban, im not latino! if you dont seem to care, then maybe thats the problem, people dont care and just think all spanish speaking people are the same, and call them latinos. well Spain is NOTHING like latin america. some people dont even know where spain is.

watch this and maybe you will understand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO_Prn7O4Jk

yea, i can search in wikipedia too, thanx.
Latino: is a person of hispanic DESCENT but also latin american. im not hispanic im spanish, even if technically its correct that im hispanic, its not the same as the way they use the term nowadays as a sinonim for latino. anyway, thats not the ponit, its not called singstar hispanic, its singstar latino, and latino refers to american hispanics/ latin americans.

I think the problem with your comment is that no one is assuming Latino culture is the same as Spanish culture. We're talking about Spanish the language in a Latino context. It's not only Spain that speaks Spanish (and Spain's Spanish is a lot different from a lot of Latino Spanish anyway).

I guess you would have a point if there are songs featured in the game by Spanish people. Are there?

'Mi agüita amarilla...Mo ja las ca lles...Y la empie zo a mear." [My little yellow water...It wets the streets...And I start to pee.]'

Hey! You got it all wrong! the "la" before the verb "empiezo" indicates a femenine adjective. The correct translation would be "And I start to pee her(or it, if refering to the streets. "

That doesn't make it better...

si buscas la definicion de latino en un diccionario español, no es lo mismo que la definicion de los americanos. la palabra latino, viene de "latinoamericano" y es alguien que habla una lengua hispana y que vive o ha nacido en america.
